Canford v Goldikova

And Frankel v who over 10 furlongs?
Wont be Goldy as she is a miler,and it wont be CC as he wont even be tried over 10 furlongs.Unless he meets Frankel over a mile and gets stuffed.Which is unlikely as it will be a good old while before they meet,or if they ever do.

Also,Frankel and Canford will duel in the Sussex Stakes - 1/3 Frankel 9/4 Canford atm!!

CC has only ever raced against older horses twice in his life .Once last year when he beat Rip Van Winkle in the Sussex Stakes.And this year in the Lockinge when he beat several horses inc D!ck Turpin.

I think you might be getting confused with DT not PB.
But Goldy only faced DT once and that was last year.

Can't help thinking that Frankel has their measure.

I follow racing for moments like the 2000Gs. I must have watched it 20 times: marvellous, inspiring, fantastic.

I fancy Canford Cliffs to do Goldikova but it should be a cracking race.

Agree with 21Shergar about Frankel though. He looks a horse in a million over a mile.

Doesnt anyone think that if Frankel blazes a trail he is very likely to set a race up for the likes of Goldy and CC?
And lets not forget that Goldy was very close to breaking the world record for a mile on turf.So a rapid pace is very much in her favour.

I think Frankel has the ability to blaze a trail and not get caught. On the other hand he has not run his other races as he did the Guineas so a repeat of that kind of run is unlikely. In truth we are all guessing until he meets the top class older horses. I have to admit that at this stage I only have a belief that he is better.

I fancy Canford Cliffs to beat Goldikova, but i think (and hope) that Frankel can beat them both.

I was thinking a little the other day about whether Frankel would set the race up for those rivals. The conclusion i came to was this. If he is able to do what he did in the 2000 Guineas he can get so far in front that they would have to use their turn of foot to reach him and then would they be able to go past him?. And if they try and stay with him then will they have anything left?

However, i suspect that they will not be trying such daring tactics in races to come. His performance was exceptional in the 2000 Guineas, a freak if you like but i would expect him to adopft more reserved tactics in the St James' Palace and see how he copes. If he can produce something like his 2000 Guineas run again (not necessarily the same type of run but a performance of similar quality), then he will be very very hard to beat.

P.S. The Hannon team have talked about stepping Canford Cliffs up to 10f so it might be that they meet over a mile and 10f. What a season we have in prospect!

I think Frankel has been extremely impressive thus far, which is why everyone is so excited. It's more of what he can achieve that has us licking our lips.

If he can top the rating of this horse - he will be one of the greatest!!
