Has anyone noticed how quiet the rags on our board have become since the 1-6 (going on 1-8) mauling we gave them in their "theatre of dreams?
Certain permanent rag fixtures on our board have disappeared now , thank goodness. Those that still post do so less frequently but even more bitterly than before, surely this is a sign that they are now beginning to realise that the threat is real and they are getting worried?
At first they laughed it off and simply sat back waiting for the inevitable 'same old City' wheels to fall off. Then they were knocked for six at the swamp, no apologies for the pun, ok they could maybe have scored a couple early doors, but they didn't and we could easily have scored at least 8. Now the fear is creeping in and ONH, Denise, Beta, and the rest are not sounding so sure, in fact they are sounding a little nervous in some of their bitter posts and i for one am" just loving it" as Super Kev might say.
The wheels may still fall off yet but i dont think so and neither do they but i am going to enjoy the ride until the end whatever it may be.
Not That I'm Complaining but.........

Unfortunately we have not had the benefit of being able to 'work hard' and make 'shrewd investments' because of the impending FFP rules. It was more a case of jump on the boat, or wave it goodbye.

I know, and you did the right thing given the opportunity you had. You can understand the teeth gnashing from elsewhere though, cant you?

all the united fans I know are still here, I have noticed a marked increase in City fans though. I used to be able to name all the City fans on here. not now,

so, having the most money and buying up lots of great players and then having a great team isn't an achievement.
utd have been doing it for years mate
.....................
Building up a team over time and making them great is an achievement. What City have done simply buying anything and everything is no achievement what so ever.
.................................................
it doesn't matter where the money came from, whether it was a sugar daddy, rancid meat or champions league money.
when you are about four foot deep, stop digging and lie down. it's time for your well earnt rest.
.........................................
Even if we ignore where the money has come from it is still crazy excessive spending. Then taking into account where all this money has come from shows the club hasn't needed to balance its budget or work its way up it could just spend whatever was required to get to the top.
I hope you having taking your advice and had your rest...

Yeah, because I was chief accountant at Murdoch Group in 1992 and have free access to all the transaction details :erm:
....................................
So basically you believe this because you want to... not that you have any proof or anything...
Bit of a conspiracy theory you have going there...
.................................
I was talking about Rupert Murdoch. You know, the guy who owns Sky? The one that orchestrated the TV revenue changes? The one who wanted to buy United, but was stopped by the FA?
................................
So the person who has no direct business interest in Manchester United and who owns the company that made the tv deal which benefits all premier league clubs...
What about him...
..............................................
Top and bottom of it - you raggies have had it all your own way for so long, you've forgotten how to share and play nice.
..............................................
Not exactly sure what you mean by share.... Englands TV deal is much fairer than Spains... if you mean how much we win then that goes back to the brilliant manager I mentioned earlier..
...........................
You can't stand having your superiority challenged and, worse than that, you can't bear that it's us that's doing it to you.
...........................
I have said several times that Citys challenge like Chelseas shall be good for us and push us to be better domestically and in Europe...
.................................
To be fair, though, I've encountered plenty of United fans on here who aren't embittered by our superlative good fortune. I'll stick to talking to those guys in future.
.................................
Adopting the scouse bubble trick... it is probably best for those of a more sensitive nature who think City have done nothing unusual in their climb up the table..

become since the 1-6 (going on 1-8)

1-6 flattered you. It would be hard to score 8 with 7 shots on target.

"City's scorers were ballotelli x 2 Dzeko x2 Aguero and Silva. Think we can safely conclude that it's only because you spent a lot of money"
What an idiot, are you claiming Chicarito, Berbatov,Van Persie, Drogba, Suarez etc etc were all signed for nothing or were homegrown?
Who scored our goals in the OT demolition is irrelevant so is the fact that you went down to 10 men. Are you seriously claiming that if your team goes a man down at home in the "theatre of dreams" then they can be easily thrashed? If your team go all out with 10 men and do not defend is that not the manager's job to stop them playing like that? Why does he sit there watching?
Next excuse please.

........................
With the exception of Drogba (Chelsea sugar daddy) they were all paid for through the clubs buying and selling and generally earning money....
Chicharito and Van Persie combined were about a third of the price of Dzeko or Ballotelli or Santa Cruz... and closer to a quarter of the price of Aguero...
Berbatov was bought as we knew we were selling on Ronaldo next year, and even if we take Valencia and Berbatovs transfer fee away from the one we recieved from for Ronaldo it is still a nice £30M +
Suarez was mostly paid for with the Torres and Babel sales...

.................................................
Believe that if you wish but the line City only beat United because they have spent huge amounts of money is pretty factual and it stands...
..........................................
so is the fact that you went down to 10 men.
..........................................
There is a reason teams line up with 11 players rather than 10 and generally try not to get players sent off...
It is alot easier with 11 men than it is 10...

I'm not claiming any of those players were homegrown, but they were all, bar maybe Drogba, bought with money that was earned through on field success. Unlike all the City players who scored in the game at Old trafford.
Are you seriously trying to say that you'd have players of that quality if it wasn't for the sheik?
