OK, I'm exaggerating, but I am really concerned by August's fixture list. Just to remind you:
Newcastle Away
CL Qualifier
Liverpool Home
CL Qualifier
Man Utd Away
Those qualifiers are midweek games.
We didn't win ANY of those premiership games last season. I would suggest that 5-7 points from those Premiership fixtures and safe passage into the group stages of the CL would be a result under the circumstances.
Wenger better get his transfer business done by August.
Cause For Concern

The lst sentence rings true with me. Wenger tends to dily dally over the transfers, often hanginthings out until the final days of the transfer indo. IIf he wats to play that game thissummer, I rally do fear for us. Arsenal need reinforcing and they need to do it swiftly rather than jerk around.

Are you suggesting that given the circumstances we'd :
Blow a four goal lead at St.James Park.
Drop two points in the 107th minute against Liverpool.
Again?

The circumstances of how we drew our irrelevant.
The fact is we weren't good enough to win either of thsoe fixtures last season.

Man U always start slow, so good that their more difficult fixtures are later in the campaign.
We usually start ok so get the tougher matches out of the way while teams are still adjusting to the start of the new season, new team mates etc

Give over!
Diaby lost the plot and got sent off and then the ref gave them the two worst decisions of the season.
And Eboue was bribed.
Hardly a case of not being good enough!

You are saying that they were exceptional circumstances.
But they happened several times over the course of the season! We collapsed all over the place from winning positions, and the fact of the matter is we weren't good enough ON THE DAY to win those matches.
You cannot put down to bad luck events which were repeated numerous times throughout the season.

Not true.
I get what you're saying though, throughout the season we probably were not good enough to win the league.

That Grey one is a different matter. You're absolutely right there were several other matches where we committed suicide but those two matches were desperately unlucky.

Liverpool wasn't unlucky. One of our players gave away a stonewall penalty.
Newcastle was unlucky, but was symptomatic of our failings last season.
