According to bbcsport_david (david ornstein), he has just announced on his twitter account that 'he has been realiably informed Southampton have received no bids or even inquiries for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain'
That is great news so far, hopefully it stays that way!!!
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

So, what's better for a player who's had one season in League 1? A season in the Championship to see how he fares, or a season on Arsenal/United/Liverpool's bench with the odd 10 minutes?
I think he will improve with us, as our academy set up is one of the best in the country.

Lallana is twice the player Oxlade Chamberlain is

Saint Ford, exactly he has proven himself as a 17yr old in League 1 and got into Team of the Year. As an 18yr old he can now look forward to a year in the Championship against some very strong teams. Then he can make a decision at the end of next season because then he will have a better idea of where he is at as a player and where Southampton are as a club.
Fans are forgetting he is so young, if he moves now I think we will see another Walcott and Bale, who both couldn't get games at the beginning of their new clubs. Lucky for Bale he has progressed but Walcott progression has been stinted because he is in/out of the side all season. I know they both have injury problems but I feel they could've been better if they stayed one more season with Saints.

Thats because Lallana is 5/6 yrs older than him.

I agree completely SL Saint. I think we can all agree that Chambo is better than Walcott was at this age?
Also, yes Lallana is our best player, by a country mile.

Chamberlain is 17, Lallana is 23.
Lallana didn't even make his debut until 18. Chamberlain has massive potential, but should stay another season in the championship.

Chamberlain has massive potential and will improve no doubt about that, whether he is with us or not. I hope he stays with us next season as I think it will help him develop. He will get plenty of games at a decent level. plus regular outings with England at one level or another. Lallana will also get noticed and will be rewarded accordingly. LaLa will be our main man for the forseeable future.
My only hope is that we will buy good players to supprt him

I don't think Lallana is a country mile better than Alex O-C myself, because the big clubs are looking for pace in their wide men above anything now, and it's the one thing Adz doesn't have. Look at the England U21 game - all those pacy players yet they didn't have the guile that Adz has, something different to create an opportunity. Their mistake.
I think AOC already has the maturity and the skill, there's no doubt he has the pace, but what he needs is experience. If he went to a Prem club now, he wouldn't get the time on the pitch to gain that experience, whereas he knows that with us he will. If we hadn't been promoted it would have been different, but since we have, there's no better place for him than a Champs club where he's at home and will be looked after while he learns, and has the opportunity to develop into a great player.
This is of course only my opinion and what do I know -but I'm disappointed his Dad doesn't see it my way!!!

Well, I've read on "Match" magazine that there is not listing of Alex in Arsenal's transfer list of preferred players - the lists mostly list top European and English players but not Alex.
It seems to me that Alex is not ready for Arsenal or any top Premiership clubs as yet.
I suspect Wenger or a few Premiership bosses will have to watch how he plays during the coming season - maybe buys him in January or next season. Just maybe.
