this could have been Wenger

“Nobody would have bet on us finishing top but it has happened against all the odds and this is a great win for the team. My players deserve the respect that they don’t get. We’ve been continually chased by all kinds of people but here we’ve given all those critics a slap in the face. We see a Manchester United defender who says he doesn’t want to be in a team like Chelsea. There has been a continuous persecution of Chelsea, continuous aggression for one club. Manchester City are the only team in the country at the moment and I sincerely hope they qualify for the next round of the Champions League. But the attitude is ‘If they qualify, they qualify, if not they don’t’. That’s not the same as with us. We have become your target and tomorrow is difficult for you guys because now you’ll have to write about Chelsea." – Andre Villas-Boas.

I love it when a manager tells it like it is. new found respect for AVB

Liverpool has spent so much money on there team, yet you never hear Kenny Dalglish or ay of there english players getting criticized.

the media in this country and racist bigots and all have a hidden agenda.

Kenny and the new owners have spent < £30m in real terms.

That's the less than the ginger rookie spooged on Lakuku and Meirrelliiieeeeiissss.

I don't think I've known a season like it. At the moment it's Tottenham telling everyone how great they are, now it's AVB after beating a clueless Valencia team.

They are riding the crest of a wave at the moment, buts the media and their own fans are a fickle bunch and if they don't win something the pressure will be back with vengeance.

Very interesting how angry opposition fans are with Liverpool fans becuase we are not overly critical of his progress so far. Ironic becuase it was those same voices who were blathering on about us wanting Roy out. It's a fluid situation with the plastic fans these days.

yet Liverpool, havnt won anything for 5 years, spend millions on average players, dont even get in europe.

---------

So Dalglish, having been manager for nearly 12 months now is responsible for this?

Remember where we where when Dalglish took over? Bottom half and closer to relegation than Europe thanks to Gillet, Hicks and Hodgson.

Although I do get your point. But the media feed off what comes along. The big difference with th emillions spent by Liverpool and United when compared to Chelsea is that is money earned by the club. Chelsea have an historically impatient owner that demands instant results pumping millions of HIS money into the side.

The Whinging Managers Gentlemans Club:

Founder: Arsene Wenger
Bursar: Sir Alex Ferguson

Honorary Member: Kenny Dalglish (awarded without application due to outstanding work in the field of moaning with a particular expertise in blaming results on referee decisions to detract from the failings of the team/management)

Rejected Membership : Neil Warnock (due to unsound mind and likelihood of violent episodes)

Expired Membership: Rafael Benitez (due to Breach of Rule 1.34: Members must be employed and must not be "signing on" as this undermines the exclusivity and staus of the club.)

Membership under consideration: Andrea Villas Boas (has demonstarted excellent whinging skills after defeat, stroppy spoilt brat tendancies, disproportionately egotistical, high levels of delusion. An excellent candidate for one so young).
