Samir Nasri has told Arsenal fans not to read too much into the fact that he is yet to sign a new contract with the club.
Nasri has just a year to run on his current deal but he has yet to agree an extension with the Gunners, leading to speculation that he will leave the Emirates this summer.
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and he has done little to quell the rumours of his imminent departure by failing to give a definite answer on his future.
"There is not much to say, apart from don't listen to all the rumours," the 23-year-old is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"Earlier in the season I spoke with the boss and we said we would talk during the summer, which is what we are going to do."
In early March Arsenal were still hunting the quadruple but defeat to Birmingham in the Carling Cup final sparked a downturn in fortunes that saw the Gunners lose their grip on the Premier League before exiting both the FA Cup and Champions League.
It is now six years since Arsenal won a trophy, but Nasri is confident the drought will be ended sooner rather than later.
"Our desire is so big that we rush things and make mistakes. It's not because we are scared but because we want to win so badly, we don't think enough," he said.
"We had everything but if you look at it, every time we played to go top of the league, we never did.
"I feel we had the best squad and played the best football. If the boss adds some good players, I really believe a trophy will be won."
So where does he say that he wants to leave...sounds to me he is hopeful for us next season......

Where does Nasri say ' I am off' ??
posted on 18/6/11
He doesn't say it anywhere. Like Fabregas, Nasri is a key player whose future is in doubt and because he hasn't committed his future publicly on the back of our failures last season, some of our fans are looking for a scapegoat.
Some Gooners still seem scarred by the treatment we got from Adebayor. They need to understand that just because he treated us like dirt doesn't mean Nasri will. I hope and expect him to stay and I hope the fans will still welcome him next season because we need him!
