Darren Gibson---Man U ???

Has anyone else not wrote this story off straight away as a bit of filler on a quiet news day? Main reason being only yesterday United announced Fletcher was taking an extended break due to health reasons leaving them very short on central midfielders.

And to be honest I think he would be shown up as a very average player without the calibre of his current team mates

dont know much about the bloke but if he dousnt mind playing three games then being put on the subs bench for two,losing usually,and then not even making it to the subs bench whilst junior joes play...plus joining a few others that have moved here in the wilderness.it could be a good move,failing that and for your future go somewhere else lad

I think Gibson is very good player, but at sametime think he would be too expensive a luxury for us, when as stated we need CF and RB

However that aside, I don't believe it anyway, so problem solved haha

Whilst Gibson is a very average player at best for Man Utd he would improve Derby's midfield so for me if the option became available I'd take it.
As for the wages Man Utd would probably pay a large percentage of his wage as is normal for a prem player going on loan to the Championship

I agree with you. We're not comparing like with like, average PL player, yes, but there is a big jump between that & our league. It is probably filler as the report assumes any deal is dependent on United paying his wages. I also think struggling PL clubs might also be interested (Bolton) & gazump any deal if true.

I think Gibson had a good game against us in the FA Cup tie where United strolled to a 4-1 win and scored too if I remember rightly.
