Suarez's ban is absolutely right

Today, I have read nearly every Liverpool fans view of the Suarez incident. There are one or two who have said it's completely unacceptable no matter.

The punishment delivered by the FA was not an individual attack on him, and certainly wasn't an attack on Liverpool FC. This decision was not a overdose of political correctness, it was the FA upholding of the principle that any form of racial abuse is no longer acceptable in England.

It may be acceptable in Suarez's home country. It may also be acceptable in other European countries. But that does not mean it's acceptable in England.

From the looks of it, other countries in the world turn a blind eye to racism or even in some cases hand out a soft punishment. As a result of that, Suarez seems to think it is OK to do such thing in England. We shouldn't meekly fall in step. Britain is becoming increasingly diverse as it is accommodating large multi-coloured populations. We shouldn't let individuals like Suarez ruin our country.

From my point of view, the FA let Suarez get off lightly, but lets not forget the FA still have the incident at Craven Cottage to investigate. The FA tend to issue three-game bans, however in Suarez's case it would have been insufficient because it would have made it appear the offence was no more serious than a red card.

The FA's anti-racism campaign and the work of organisations like Kick Racism Out was to retain any credibility, the punishment needed to be more harsh. That's why the FA have got this decision right. This ban will send out a message that any sort of racial abuse will dealt with accordingly.

Suarez defenders to say he didn't realise that abusing Evra would be considered blameworthy in our country. That's simply stupid.

Look at how many years he spent playing in the Dutch league, it's not as if he was imported straight into England. End line is he should have known better.

Liverpool will miss Suarez badly if the ban stands, the despair of Suarez will have a huge impact on their style of playing. It's either Carroll or Bellamy upfront for them now.

No evidence whatsoever, the guys at the hearing had a barbecue, danced the conga and picked the punishment from the naughty fa book.

So where is this evidence then?? They haven't shown LFC any!

confessions outweigh evidence.

or are you still adamant that despite every media outlet reporting that suarez admitted using the word, that he in fact never made this admission?

Typical nobhed, cares more about 5 stars than not typing drivel.

Made the admission to who? Where? When?

Even BBC 5Live have just called it pure speculation!!

You obviously don't deal with hard facts and live in a fantasy land where the press don't lie

there is a difference between speculating, as papers do all the time and making a direct statement. when papers make direct statements then unless they are true, they can be sued. As pretty much every media outlet is stating that he admitted it, then LFC and Suarez himself are going to be very, very rich by the time they've got compensation from everywhere.

Seems odd that they all agree on this, when usually they are constantly contradicting each other.

I will, however happily apologise if and when all those court cases are announced - will you do the same when the documents from the case are released?

The only proof you offered was one article by the guardian in which they mention he "has admitted to using the word negro". They dont attribute the admission to anyone! Again, admitted to who? When? If he had actually admitted to using that word it would be headline news. Not just a passing reference in one article!

He has been given an 8 match ban, lets stop moaning about it and move on.

I'm not going to trawling the internet looking for references to it. i've read it in enough places over the last few days to know what they have said, as i'm sure you have also.

i can't be bothered discussing things with ostriches. go back to burying your head and ignoring the world.

(and yes, i know ostriches don't really bury their heads...)
