Danny Guthrie breaks a players leg on purpose and gets a red card a 3 match suspension for ruining a players career and yet some abusive words in the heat of a moment is punished by 8 games. It doesn't make sense. Yes racism is a problem but it's not GBH. Anyone who tries to justify this has a blinkered mind.

I actually think if Suarez is proved to have used the word, 8 matches is probably right. He is a big boy and should know what a taboo using those kind of words is these days. We are yet to see evidence or an actual admittal he did.
The leg breaker is difficult. You have to actually prove he meant to break his leg, if you can only prove a deliberate foul then a straight red and 3 match ban is all they can impose.
