SHOULD and CAN the FA charge Evra?

Thought i would sneak this one in, whilst the hate-mob attentions have been distracted by terry being charged by the CPS.

Given the information we have before the FA releases it's written report, should Evra be charged for the abusive comments (nature unknown but apparently in Spanish?) he made to Suarez?

Since no complaint was made at the time, can a retrospective charge be made in order that Evra might be brought to task?

As i understand it, Suarez was banned for four games for being abusive. Then a further four game band was added due to the perceived racial nature of this remark(s).

Should Evra be facing a minimum four game ban for his role in this incident? Please, remember that Evra has allegedly admitted making an abusive comment(s).

I don't know, now probably yes, as I think this Suarez racism row has set a new precedent.

Now all players will be able to complain to the FA about any abuse received on the pitch, racial abuse is justified and should be dealt with. If Evra is found to be using abuse of that nature then he too should be banned.

However if its just an every day abusive word, that has no relation to race, sexual preference etc. then stuff like that should be taken on the chin, however now I'm not so sure it would be

Pandora's box has well and truly been opened.

The FA are in for a torrid time.

Yes, I'm not trying to be bias toward Evra, I'm trying my best not to be, I'm just trying to say before fans start brandishing accusations about there should be some proof first. So far there is next to none toward Evra using abusive words, only LFC's word.

I'm not one of the fans saying Suarez is a racist either, you'll never find me saying that, there is some (albeit not much) evidence of Suarez using words which may or may not be a racial slur, as Suarez has admitted he said something, and Evra too.

Sadly thus whole issue could have been put to bed a lot earlier. Evra abused Suarez and Suarez abused Evra. There is no racial motive by either party. As usual the FA has contrived to blow the issue out of all proportion.

-------------------------------

For example things like this is what I'm trying to argue against. Sadly most will now believe Evra is just as wrong as Suarez based on very little evidence.

Sorry let me rephrase that ''Sadly most will now believe Evra is just as wrong as Suarez based on 'NO' evidence.''

Oh and before it's mentioned again, LFC saying Evra said he said something is not evidence.

Suarez admitting himself he said something IS evidence.

LFC have been privy to the hearing and said Evra has admitted bearing reference to Suarez's race. Whats the difference?

--------------------

The difference is what if Evra comes out and says he didn't say anything? You're going to believe LFC, I'm going to take the man by his word, just like I have Suarez.

He said he didn't hear anything, and that he said 'something his team mates call him'.

There is a difference

If the evidence given to the enquiry includes Evra making in abusive and/or insulting language, including reference to race or ethnicity, this would consititue the same violation of the FA rules E3(1) and E3(2) then I would expect no less an imposition of the same punishment.

However, since that would upset and inconvenience SirExLax, I expect no action to be taken.

Paisley, I don't think I've ever challenged your comments before, thats because in the main I agree with them but, on this occasion, to merely 'hope' that LFC have based their statement on facts is, hopefully wide of the mark. That statement wasn't bashed out in a 5-minute think, there's a lot of work gone into it, and by the way, full marks to the author(s). The statement simply HAS to be based on fact, immovable fact, uncontradictory fact, real fact, and nothing less. And I strongly suspect it is just that. Bring on the F All. YNWA JimmyTheRed

I hope you right Jimmy and suspect you are mate

The written report will make interesting reading and there will be a maximum two long weeks before the appeal process might get under way.

This may drag on for a while yet.

Sir Bubbly

You are in over your head in this one. LFC have no intention if letting this one go for good reason. The whole matter will be gone over again with a fine tooth comb and if Evra has made a statement that he abused Suarez then I expect LFC to make a formal complaint.
