the only players with better scoring records than bent over the last few years have been van persie, maybe rooney, berbatov and maybe tevez.

you're not going to find a more prolific premier league goal scorer for a reasonable price than darren bent.

The last club Darren Bent was at where he was under serious pressure to perform was Tottenham and he was awful there. If he goes to Liverpool it will be the same thing all over again. He's not had a great 2011 either lets not forget.

To find someone who ticks the boxes youre going to have to look abroad.

Why is nobody on here suggesting the only person with a fantastic scoring record?

He's scored 172 goals in his last 257 league appearances.

He could be available for approx £25m (+ a few muppets i.e. Kuyt + Joe Cole for instance).

After spending in the past few years £20 million on Keane, £35 million on Carroll, are you suggesting that your chairman will sanction another £25-30 million on another striker that will go missing as soon as he sets foot inside Anfield.
