As we wait for the club to decide its next course of action, there are a number of sites producing some very good points about the panel decision.
ive included a couple of very good ones below:
http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=284771.0&fb_source=message

http://www.liverpool-kop.com/2012/01/exclusive-how-fa-withheld-vital-evra.html#.TwHI9yAjuyA.facebook

on the second one, it is very interesting why the FA felt the need to interview evra alone straight after the allegation and then only reveal this a DAY before the hearing, 2 months later.

in addition, I wanted to highlight the clear bias within this paper towards evra.
in the section describing demeanour, we have two clearly different openings for evra and luis suarez:

229. Mr Evra has played for Manchester United and France for a number of years. He has
captained both. He speaks a number of languages including Senegalese, French, Spanish, Italian and some Portuguese. He gave his evidence to us in English. Although an interpreter was present to assist him in giving evidence if he required it, in the event he did not.
230. The FA applied for Mrs Wiley, the Assistant Club Secretary of Manchester United to be
permitted to attend the hearing while Mr Evra gave evidence for the purpose of reducing his anxiety, which we allowed

So a lovely description of his captaincy and a biography of his playing career. Also note how the FA asked for the assistant club secretary to be present...not a request from the player...why?

on to the opening for suarez

235. Mr Suarez speaks little English. There were occasions during the hearing when he clearly
understood a question in English because he gave a response in a few words of English or
by a nod of the head. But these were few and far between.
236. Mr Suarez was present for the whole of the hearing. It was inevitably a stressful time for
Mr Suarez facing, as he was, a serious charge in unfamiliar surroundings. He sat with his
own interpreter, who translated the proceedings for him throughout. When he gave
evidence, he did so through an independent interpreter. He gave evidence in a respectful
manner. We are conscious of the difficulties for Mr Suarez in giving evidence in the
circumstances which we have described.

No lovely little biography about captaining ajax or playing for uruguay, just a snide remark about him OBVIOUSLY being able to understand some questions as he nodded and said individual english words.
notice how the FA did not petition for anyone to be present with suarez, despite the obvious pressure and ANXIETY that these allegations put him under.
The charge has been made by the FA on behalf of evra, but this is not the FA against suarez...they have a duty to be impartial to all members of the FA but seem to forget this when looking to make a point to Mr Blatter

LMAO at the club statement which continues to state his innocence, but then concedes that they won't appeal for the "greater good".

What a pile of shight, they're not appealing as they know they've not got a leg to stand on.

'Strong words' that mean sweet FA.

Classless to the end of this distasteful saga.

Exactly. I've been wronged by the FA and the best way to prove my innocence is to accept their punishment

What about clearing his good name?

Oh dear looks like Suarez has admitted again to calling Evra a Negro.

"In my country, 'negro' is a word we use commonly, a word which doesn't show any lack of respect"

So pages and pages of denial and he admits it again, using the discredited defence of it is not being a form of abuse.

Never thought I would see the day anyone decent would defend the use of the word Negro on a football pitch.

The poor baby

After 5 years living in Europe he absolutely must know 'negro' is not acceptable here.

It is shameful to try and defend it.

So sad to see the ignorance. At first i thought it was a wind up but it seems the anti-racists are gaining speed. Soon 'black' will be a banned word and the beginning of the end for nouns and adjectives.

Such a shame that we are made to pay for the mistakes of people before us. This seems a recurring theme throughout history.

Regardless, case closed and we move on. We stand behind our player and remember the farce that was the FA hearing and the famous probably guilty verdict. Rejoice if you find pleasure in this travesty. As they say, 'ignorance is bliss'.

Well it seems I was wrong doesn't it? I felt the more I thought about it, the less likely we would appeal and after reading the club's latest statement, i completely understand. I think this is reflected in my comments. I do feel sorry for Suarez, not because of the ban but the fact of him being branded for the rest of his life a racist, despite the efforts he has put in being an ambassador of racial equality.

However he stupidly put himself in this situation and he has stated it won't happen again, so as all of us must do, we live and learn.

I still believe Suarez isn't a racist, as do both the FA and Evra. I still believe Suarez didn't mean any racial abuse, as do the club. Regardless, we all have closure. Suarez is banned for eight games and will be discriminated against until he leaves the country. We all move on. Case closed.
