Yes Andy Carroll may not have been worth the enormous fee paid for him but people have been slating his performances. Yes, he has played bad but to me it seems we just haven't been delivering balls for him.
We just stick him up to by himself, surrounded by defenders, and play shocking balls to him and rarely give him a goalscoring opportunity and then calling him to be sold when he doesn't score.
Maybe we should be looking toward the midfielders???
Have We Been Too Harsh?

i agree.
Its not andy carroll fault others can't lay the perfect ball on his head to score.
Do people really think he should have other skills that dont rely on heading? He shouldn't have to!

His service tonight was terrible.
We were good tonight until the final ball, but the final ball is the key one to get the best out of Carroll.
That said, he has had plenty of final balls in other games and not finished them.
I don't have a problem with his performance tonight, as a target man he is only as good as the service he is
given. He worked hard and laid a few nice touches off.

Have been watching him tonight, and have been willing to give him plenty of opportunity to prove himself since he joined us but once again tonight he's only demonstrated how ineffective he is......, slow, cumbersome and easily overcome by defenders.
He's got to go...

He had no service again tonight. Downing didn't put in a good cross all night. Kuyt kept drifting in.
Carroll isn't an Aguero. He needs service, and to be honest the serive was poor tonight.

Doesnt change the fact carroll is crap, i dont care how you spin it hes been awful, whenever he has even had a good ball into him, ship him out for 10m

Hes garbage but the players supplying him are just as rubbish i.e Downing, the biggest flop next to Carrol

Andy Carroll will come good, I have no doubt about that. However, for all the possession we had we don't seem to have any killer instinct in the final third. We did lump the ball up to Andy in hope which is not his fault, but I feel he has to work the channels more - especially playing as a lone striker. I know this may not be a great part of his game but he has to make himself more of a pain in the a*se for defenders

Your height is irrelevant if the ball in is poor. This was more like lob than cross. I am more concerned if this is what we have to put up with for the next 7 games. Lob the ball into to Carroll and cross your fingers. We have to go in the market for a gaol scorer, we have needed to all season.
So much possession without any threat. With Suarez, its so possession with threat but no final touch.

Dalglish takes every single bit of blame for paying money for a man that was never worth the price tag.
You lot do realise that the Summer after Newcastle were relegated, Carroll was offered to Wolves for £1M to which they declined. Nile Ranger was the heir apparent at the time. Carroll had a good couple of months, that was all.
It really does make you wonder if Dalglish researched Carroll at all, don't you think?
