Nicky Maynard £3.25m Bid

Nicky Maynard £3.25m Bid

Improved bid for Maynard, £3.25mil hard to see how #bcfc can reject this with one-year left. Great progress being made by Sven and co #lcfc

whats your views, will you accept? or reject? its allot to reject with just 1 year left

Like jimifox maybe, I don't have a good sense of whether Maynard is worth this sum - somehow, I've really not been aware of him. Is he a fox in the box, or does he work harder than that, and create chances for others - does anyone have an idea?

A fox was what we lacked last season, I'd say - we made bucketfuls of chances, only for them to fall to folk like Waggy, Abe, Dyer and Wellens, whose shooting is often awry.

Firstly hello canadabluefox.

If the Florist are seeking to pay over the odds for him, then let them. It won't be the first time they've spent obscene amounts on loads of strikers to get nowhere.

This lad is not the finished article, and doesn't have a full season of CCC under his belt yet, so infact could bomb under the pressure as we've seen many other 'hot prospects' do in the past.

I say if BCFC are looking for a bidding war, we steer clear and look elsewhere, unless the lad specifies that he wants to join us and no one else.

Nottingham forest, now theres a big club. I'l stop pulling your leg now, hes worth every penny guys, SP he has had a full season in the championship and finished joint top scorer 2 seasons ago with 22 if i remember correctly. Then bagged 6 in 13 from January on this season.
Im not trying to sale him to you, and when our board say we want to keep him they genuinely mean it. We have very rich backing, their very ambitious in a bit to represent the south-west in the prem one day soon.

It's a tricky one. I always maintain that we don't want to pay over the odds for a player, but this guy could well be worth £3.25m. Certainly he's an exciting player, pacy and seemingly a natural goalscorer - the kind that could well bag 20 goals a season and like CanadaBlue says, I don't know where else we'll find that. The price is high, but the chances are good that we'd see a return on that.

That said, I don't think we should bid much if any higher.

Spherical fox,

Doesn't have a full season of Championship football under his belt? Are you mental?

So what was 09/10? Can you not recall him being the division's top scorer? And outscored Andy "£35m" Carroll?

Then again i don't suppose you had any cause to pay attention, you were in league one.

Do your homework.

Leicester were in League 1 in the 08/09 season. We reached the Championship playoffs in 09/10.

Do your homework.

Quality player though. Unfortunately for us I anticipate a bidding war, then you'll hold all the cards.

SNAP! Egg on my face. I thought he was injured that halfway through that particular season.

I've gotten my facts wrong, and hold my hands up.

Just read on Not606 of an unconfirmed report on Talksport that Bristol City have accepted an offer of £4m + Waggy for Maynard....
