He's not a bad player, plays on the right wing, is pretty quick and is a gamble but only for £3 million quid.
Just my opinion though.

I wouldn't touch Kalou, he's had enough chances at Chelsea and can't get ahead of Torres. I'd rather we invested in young hungry players who would want to make there mark in the premier league.
Dries Mertens. Quick, direct left winger with an eye for goal.
Luuk De Jong. Good pace, mobile and very good finisher.
Honda or Kawaga. Both very creative and would tap us in to the aisan market!

I'd like to see us take a gamble on a cheap striker like Kalou or just a loan for now and then sort it out come summer unless we can get someone of real quality right now. But that would mean throwing ridiculous money at it as it is the january window and the club is supposed to be in a new era of financial responsibility so waiting might be better. That said, we would find it a lot easier to get some real quality if we are in the CL.

KK. Not our money, so wouldn't worry too much. We've also got a pretty low net spend recently so probably plenty of leeway on the ffp.

But arent the owners trying to make us self sufficient. And wouldn't you rather be so than have titles bought for us by owners like chelsea and man c??

I don't think we will sign anyone for the first team y'know, maybe a couple of youngsters but I really get the feeling this window will be a quiet one (hope I'm wrong though)

Honestly? When we accepted the Suarez ban just before the City match I thought it was because we had just tied up a deal with a CF. Seeing as we didn't, no, I don't think we will. Maybe 'squad players' but no real trail blazers.
