football clubs under the threat of going out of business when players are earning obscene amounts of money every week!,in the prem. If certain English players loved the game as much as they claimed why don't they put their hands in their pockets and help the stricken clubs out? It's not as if they would miss a couple of hundred grand apiece!!!

Chelsea have signed three Luton Town youth players, all of them brothers, for a five-figure sum each.
Twins Rio and Cole Dasilva, 12, as well as their 13-year-old sibling Jay, have joined the Blues academy after five years in the Hatters ranks.
Luton say the total value of the deal could top £1m should the trio play in the Chelsea first team.
"This is a historic deal to see three brothers transferred together," said Luton head of youth Gregg Broughton.
"Following our loss in the play-offs last season we were told that the boys wished to look at other options, as was their prerogative to do so.
"And now after six months of uncertainty, we are delighted that they have found a club where they are settled and one that recognises the development work that Luton Town have put in over the last five years."

I feel sorry for the Darlo fans, They didnt sanction the silly wages they have paid out in the past and i am sure most of em would have said "how big" when Reynolds was building the new stadium !,,,,,,,Money that would once have gone back into the pyramid providing a constant trickle at the worst has now been dammed by the premier league paying obscene wages,, Am sure Darlo will start again somewhere down below, I hope so, as there isnt much else in Darlo ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Regionalisation is a no brainer below the top two divisions,

hey hydy, I think JK Boots biggest fan is doing a bit of personality theft....
The simple fact for Darlo, is regardless of it's fantastically loyal fans, their just aren't enough people who live in Darlington who really care...
Even tho 1000 went to Barrow it was too little late....
They will simply now fold, and do an FC Halifax...See ya in 5 years Darlo...

I think regionalisation is great for Conference and below but dont think thats the real issue in the Football League, more for their fans then the club. The biggest single cost to any club is wages and ever since the ITV Digital fiasco players were pushing their luck on money they didnt warrant.
I remember seeing Simon Baldry in a big flash Merc when we had been relegated to Division 3 (I think it was called that at the time, too many changes!) and he wasnt even making the first team! Yes it was the fault of the club to pay him enough to have the money to buy that car when in reality he wasnt a very good player and now would earn considerably less.
The only way things will survive is if clubs adopt a "We're not going to take it" approach and all lower wages. Then there wouldnt be the opportunity for players to just jump ship as they wouldnt earn much more elsewhere and they can take it or leave it. Obviously it would never work as there is always some rich chairman (Hoyle is as guilty as anyone) who is prepared to spend their money on players on the hope they get promoted. However, until wages come down substantially there will be constant problems.

Last minute temporary reprieve after supporters came up with enough funds to keep the club going until the end of the month.
I agree fully with those saying clubs bring about their own downfall by paying more player wages than they can afford. There are other factors at play with Darlington though - the new stadium was a folly, far bigger than the club could ever realistically need, built for the vanity of then chairman George Reynolds, a convicted safebreaker turned businessman who ended up doing further time for tax fraud.
I'm sure that there couldn't possibly have been any negative impact on the club finances whilst under his stewardship!
