Goalkeeper Checklist for Medical:

Ok first of all I am no WUM, but a lifelong United fan genuinely astonished by something I read today, so I'm having a minor rant: Here goes..

When conducting a Medical for a new Goalkeeper, the following questions would have been pretty high on the agenda (or so I thought)

1) Two Arms (with Hands) - Check
2) Two Legs - Check
3) Has full use of all apendages (afore said arms and legs) - Check
4) Isn't blind....... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/19/manchester-united-david-de-gea-eye-surgery

To be clear - the kid has genuine talent, and I rate him very highly (based upon past form for Ath. Madrid and glimpses of the same during his time so far with United).

- But WTF were they thinking???

Surely the logical thing to do would have been to send him for the op straight away, as soon as they got him on the books (if not before), and give him time to recover BEFORE throwing him in at the deep end.
