A few years ago I felt that losing Wenger would be a disaster for the club, now I am not so sure, I like the way he wants to play football but:
(1) His inability to buy quality players- they so often slip through his fingers.
(2) The high wages he has set up for so many of our mediocre players.
(3) His inability to see the obvious e.g. why he has delayed Oxlade-Chamberlain's game time but insists on playing useless Theo.
(4) His inability to see that Fabregas and Nasri were going to leave and as a result failing to plan for it.
(5) His insistence on keeping the once great Pat Rice as his hopeless right hand man.
(6) The defensive naivety that his teams CONTINUALLY display - he seems to generally fail to buy players with grit.
I DO appreciate all that Wenger has done for the club but if he left now I wouldn't be devastated in the way that I once would have been - he has made too many mistakes in the last few years to feel that.
With Wenger: It's different now...

I love Wenger and don't take lightly what he's done for us. Keeping us in the CL these last six years whilst operating on a negative transfer budget is more commendable than the early success he delivered to us.
I do think though that it's now time for a change and the Pat Rice thing runs to the heart of why. Rice is a silent assistant who seemingly rarely challenges Wenger. And I think Wenger likes it this way. There's a sort of arrogance to how he stubbornly goes it alone. He's played Walcott for years now in the vain hope of proving critics wrong. Much of how he goes about things seems to be more concerned with proving personal critics wrong rather than doing what's right for Arsenal. And when you take into account our tactical sterility as well as the indifferrence of our teams when they step out onto the pitch, you do wonder what the hell he is saying exactly. So a change in management is just the medicine we need to freshen things up, but picking the right manager is utterly essential.
It's also worth pointing out that the board may have played a more culpable role in our decline than Wenger. They may be incompetent in transfer negotiations and purposefully too.

That is indeed the heart of the matter I'm afraid. It is NOT anymore about Arsenal but about him trying to prove the impossible. He still claims that he creates a financially stable team but even that is not really what it is about. AHB, yoy pointed all the weaknesses out. Now Wenger should go, this is not anymore in Arsenal's interest, fans need to show what they think.

I would much rather Arsene rectifies what is clearly wrong with our team rather than go, personally.
Come on guys, it's Arsene. He is a huge part of our club - it's crazy to fire him.
Anyway, he won't get fired. Even if we don't qualify for CL. The Chairman has made that clear.
So let's just hope he has a sudden realisation that he's managerial decision are bloody suspect, thus far.

Yes especially a huge part of the club's problems right now. Can't see the board as especially brilliant but it has become a situation of authocracy by now. Old man trying to prove his worth against all odds. No need for that for a team that has invested in a stadium to be part of the top

I used to think the same about George Graham, life goes on. I look at the organisation of the team on the pitch, particully when we dont have the ball, and wonder if Wenger is a great manager of yesterday. Alot of people want Wenger to stay as long as he changes, well, that's never going to happen- you want Wenger to be something he is not.
