united defence may be the difference.Evra looked decent yesterday and Evans has gained a bit of confidence but just like the Arsenal dsefence of old youngsters smalling and Jones are just an accident waiting to happen. There is a mistake each game in one of them and when you add Evans to the mix then its easy to see how much of a miss Vidic is.
Credit to United, very few teams can respond to the pressure applied by City and go on and win a game with a midfield consisting of Giggs and Scholes.I expected Arsenal to find a way to lose but to be honest other than the spell after van Persie's goal, we never looked in control of the match.
Its interesting however, given the concerns I have about the united defence, how the substitution of the Ox may have affected the game.United looked rattled, like they did in the FA cup tie against City and its all ifs and buts but they did the business at the end.
I think the united fixture list will be telling at the end.We have been here before, I know but its just hard to imagine united can co,me away with more than 2 points from Anfield anfd the Bridge.
Im almost certain united will beat Spurs at the lane, it always happens, no point betting against it but at the end of that run City could be 7 points clear and may seal the deal at the Etihad.
Fun days for us nuetrals, but even if united dont win the premiership, you have to admire their resolve. The sad part is City can only be stronger next season, Mancini will sell the deadwood and Reinforce in the obvious areas were they are lacking.
Title Race far from over but

'm happy with our defence. City can't spend next summer because of FFP rules. They are already operating at a £200m loss. You won't see much spending from them

I bet you will.

Apparently Mancini wanted to strengthen in January but was told the club couldn't afford to with the new FFP rules on the horizon.
They would have to get rid of a lot of players to make purchases so we'll see.
I just think the days of them spending 100 odd million are over.

I'd be quite happy with 2 points form those games, considering we play liverpool in the FA cup.

I don't think Jones and Smalling are any worse than Rio and Rafael in terms of an accident waiting to happen. Rafael was a second yellow waiting to happen yesterday hence why Fergie subbed the sub!
But I think Jones and Smalling need to look at their footwear. It's not the first time they've had problems staying on their feet, in fact Jones slipped twice yesterday before the injury incident.
For me our biggest problem is right-back. Valencia is our best right back but far more effective as a winger, in fact he's probably our most consistent player right now.
Any chance getting GNev out of retirement?

Rafael is a much better right back than Tony V, so is Fabio. Chamberlain got very little joy from Rafael, he got more from Evra. Was only because Raf charged forward that Arsenal scored

Even if the FFP is not being enforced that strongly clubs at least have to appear to be trying to get in line with the rules...
So we will not see anymore crazy spending from City, with their wages they can barely afford it.

Chelsea and Tottenham are two games I'm not looking forward to. Spurs were so so unlucky not to beat City yesterday, and at home they're really devastating to be honest. I think for the first time under Fergie's reign, we're going to have a hard game on our hands at WHL.

dont bet on it.I ve loathed and followed united all my life, if there is a banker its at white hart lane.People laugh at us for drwing at Newcastle after scoring 4, who can forget united's comeback at the lane after going behind by 3 to win 5-3.
That was just pathetic.Even if united dont play well the ref always pops in.It always happens trust me.
