Wigan have this morning issued a statement saying that they have not made any bid for Maynard and are not in talks . What is going on ?

not sure,LRR, but Wigan say they only enquired last week, so perhaps City thought they would let us know by saying what was probably true, you can speak to Nicky.
Interestingly, if you look at the press talk on website, there are all kinds of stories, even that Nicky wants to go to a high or middle table prem team or even run his contract down till the end of the season ( this goes against his interviews saying he would do what was best for him and City, doesnt it?)

Bizarre is right is this a case of Maynards agent saying to Wigan he isn't interested so Wigan are saying they never wanted him anyway so it looks like they decided they didn't want him rather than got snubbed? God knows what is happening as I can't see City putting on the OS that they had given permission for Wigan to speak to Maynard if in fact all it was was a phone call from Wigan asking if he was available as Wigan seem to be saying now.

Read a comment from Nicky today he wasn't interested in going to Wigan and told them so then they released their statement that they didn't want him anyway sour grapes taste the same if you are in the premiership(Wigan) or Championship (Leicester) with certain Leicester fans saying we lost £4 million by not selling to them Nicky went to the club he wanted he didn't want Leicester as he didn't think they would get him into the Premiership this year(rather looks as though he was right) and didn't want a short stint with getting relegated come end of this season he has probably taken the best option for himself but whether he gets as many starts as he wants next year remains to be seen as WHU have a history of spending fair ammounts of money for a smaller club.
