Was talking with a few of my bluenose mates the other day in the boozer and the subject of greatness came up.
In the end, it became a who's greater - Chelsea or Everton ?
Forget the fact that Chelsea have had all their investment and let's not turn this into who is biggest in terms of current financial grounds - i'm talking greatest football club.
As a Liverpool fan, I have to say Everton. Chelseas success story coincided with the biggest takeover in football at that time and I don't think that compares with the decades of Everton superiority on the field.
Sorry Chelsea - but you'll never be considered a great club, not for another few decades at least (and even then, it won't be highly regarded - given RAs money)
But that's just my view - what are yours ? All neutrals welcome
Chelsea or Everton

The other is a plaything, a toy of a mega-rich recluse, who cant even speak the language, has no historical connection with the club (or country!) JimmyTheRed

Because of the prestige that Everton rightly enjoys, I, as a committed Red, would have absolutely no problem with the two clubs ground-sharing. Its 2012 people, and there's no money around. Please don't shoot me. JimmyTheRed

I have to agree with you there Jimmy. As an outsider, it is the logical choice as far as i can see it. both clubs need new stadia in the same city at the same time, during times of economic downturn. Surely it makes sense to split the cost?
Can you imagine the atmosphere on derby-day?

As an outsider, I think this would make absolute sense.I doubt it will happen for some time, if ever. But for the future of both clubs, an Emirates type stadium would surely be a step forward. I do believe Everton are being held back by their ground.

I would loathe a shared ground personally and I don't think it will ever happen.

When Arsenal share their ground with Spurs, Man Utd with City and Villa with B'ham, Sheffield Utd. with Wed. Chelsea with Fulham. need I go on? It will never happen.
JTR you forgot to mention how RA got his dodgy billions?
Anyway yes deffo Everton

fitlfc, I have no knowledge of how RA did acquire his money. There is a large part of me that wouldn't want to know either. With such a concern, I wouldn't want someone whose background is at least questionable being the owner of my club. JimmyTheRed

I can only speak for myself, but had spurs been talking about a new stadium before we built the emirates, I would personally not have had a problem sharing.
Best of both worlds, you get a new, state of the art stadium at half the cost of building it.
