A very Good Afternoon to my fellow Football Fans.......
A few days ago David Moyes voiced his displeasure at the possibility of some of his players being involved with the Olympic Football tournament , he of course just hinted this and TBH I don't blame him in the slightest especially as it will impact so heavily on the forthcoming pre-season and actual start of the 2012/2013 season.............
For me the Olympics has always been about the classic sports that we've all loved so much and perhaps the less profile sports that we don't get to see so often ....Football has it's World Cup and all the continental competitions that all the players have so much pride in ..
TBH football is so different to every other sport simply because of how much the players can command in wages and transfers , it's a multi billion dollar industry and you have to ask if it's fair to expect clubs to put their very existence at risk by allowing their major assets to compete in two competitions in the same off season ?????
I wont watch the Olympic football tournament on a matter of principal but am looking forward to many other sports including the cycling and Boxing
So my friends will you be watching the football ?????
If not what are you looking forward to see ?????
Thanks for bothering to read my long winded post

Football in the Olympics

we would have a tournament in EVERY close season rather than every other one
----------------------------------------------------------
Problem with that is it can be very tough on a player, look at how overplayed Torres was when he playing World Cup Euro and Conferderation cup. he just had nothing left

TBH I really dont like the amount of money in football but that's the way of the world even if we dont like it

Well, that's not strictly true...
If you really dislike the amount of money in the game stop buying shirts, tickets, and paying for sky sports. Then convince all your friends to do the same.
Anyway, what's this got to do with the Olympics?

You could mention that all sports have their own World Championships so why bother with the Olympics?
But the Olympics brings together most of the Worlds major non-motorised sports and presents them in one big event, and I quite like that!
The Premier League will just have to cope and I'm sure it will cope perfectly well!!!
I have tickets for football at Old Trafford on 26th July, 2 matches, and I've recently discovered that the GB team will feature in one of those matches; I'm looking forward to it!!!

Or Quidditch?

Get off ya high horse OP. Football will make the London Olympics watchable for thousands more people.
I personally only watch a few track & field events, cycling and the football.
It will be good the home nations, and if they win (which I doubt), then it can only be good for British football.
