But not for Rangers.
Goodwillie: Valued at £2m. Cannae afford that.
Cuellar: Valued at £3m. Rangers offer £1.5m
Wallace: Valued at £1m. Rangers offer 300k.

The Price is Right!

Dalriada...the club that owns the contract is only one side of the equation. A player with one year left is not as valuable as one with 5 years. The owning club can give its opinion as to the value but the actual price will be determined by negotiating.

Dalriada
Each case is different.
The owner, the player and the suitor all have an impact on the value. Very much dependent on each transfer. Difficult to look at transfers broadly.
The player is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

"The club that owns the contract determines the value of the player.
Please enlighten us if that is not correct. And see can you do it without smileys"
The club that owns the contract determines the ASKING PRICE. The buyer, as in every transaction, determines the value.
Go to an auction. Seller puts a figure of £100 on a painting. It sells for £10,000. Seller determined asking price.... buyer determined value.
or
You want to sell your one bedroomed tenement flat. Market value is £100,000. Your asking price is £10,000. Good luck with that.
That make it any simpler for you?

If the club doing the selling has a value for a player if you do not meet that value and they don't sell then they set the value yes no ?????????????????

Ish and other idiots
When we offered 300k for Wilson and wee Billy wanted 600k he had six months left on his contract, therefore Forest determined his value, we didn't agree therefore the club that owns the contract determines the value of the player.

No they don't. Value is not determined by seller.

Yes it is if he doesn't accept your offer.

His 'valuation' is immaterial.

So if i'm selling a car for 20k, you can tell me to gtf and only give me 15k and i'd have to accept it?
Dont think so.

If the rest of the world say it is worth 15k... then that is its value. NOT what YOU say it is worth.
I mean.... I value the chair I am sitting in at £4,000. The rest of the world can buy them at the market rate of £200. But hey.... my valuation is the only one that matters. Right?
I don't think I am ever gonna get the value I put on this chair. I think I'll have to keep it. Or... maybe I could lower my price.
