On the face of it not the most spectacular evening , fringe players out and short term fringe players in .........Well the biggest deal was done by Newcastle at 9m so it would appear that the Jan window is now seen as a tweaker not a season changer
Whatever you think of the deals you have to let Harry have his way , he's earned it . Ryan Nelson is a decent player as is Saha , are they are any better than Pav and Bassong the major question must be their fitness but the amount of game time the replaced players have had it probably wont be proved either way...........Once again more players went out on loan and some big decisions over the future of the half a million youngsters playing away from WHL need to be made in the Summer
TBH I didn't really expect anything else in the window Harry always said he wouldn't sign anybody for the sake of it and sometimes you just have let Harry and Danny get on with it after all the progress under these two has been astonishing and have earned the right to be trusted

squid - Im just a bit annoyed, im sure i will calm down soon, just so frustrating, promised so much, i wish Harry didnt say he would ONLY bring in players that would improve us, he went against his word and brought in squad players
I hope your right as last Summer was a shambles again really, we desperately need a regular goal scorer, how this has not been sorted out i just dont know!
We are in a fantastic position in the league, some good signings would have cemented that

If you get rid of squad players you replace them with squad players ....If we got rid of 1st teamers and didnt replace them then you would have a point

Squid - But my point is, if Harry doesn't play the likes of Bassong or Pav then why bring in players who are even worse! Will they even get any game time? Why did we bother to waste time on those deals? Very desperate business and people are right to laugh at us
I was gutted in the summer, but not as shocked and disappointed as i am now...totally understand not much happens in January without having mega bucks, but nothing happened in the summer either, everyone keeps saying "the next window things will happen", well 3 have passed and we still dont have a proper goal scorer

They had no choice but to dump them two and replace them with squad players, Pav had argued with Bond and Bassong was moaning about not playing.
We don't want to disrupt the first team after a such a great first half of the season, bringing in a big name player would shift some one out of the team and could cause morale problems.
Just think the money we've saved in transfer fees and wages could go towards signing Leandro

Damiao being the exception because of the alignment of the Brasil season to the PL. As I repeatedly say, having his X on the paper regardless of when he turns up, is the important thing.
If we do want him in the summer, we cannot compete in a bidding war (Sugga Daddy FCs, other clubs whose next season forays - CL etc - will also be known) .

I feel the reason for the Saha deal ect is a mix of Levy worried about Harry going next season and the possibility of signing Damiao and/or Remy in the summer. That's my view anyway.
