The Celtic full-back claims that Fergie approached him in January and talks between the two will happen in July.
I mean a transfer for a full back makes sense, especially on the left seeing as Fabio has staked his claim for right back (of course being right footed) and after losing Brown, Neville and possibly John O'Shea, we are looking short in these numbers, not to mention how injury prone the Da Silvas are
Izaguirre won numerous awards in the SPL, player of the year, writers player, players player, and watching Celtic quite a few times (growing up idolising Henrik Larsson has never left me) he does look quite the part and I think it was him who in the Scottish Cup final impressed me the most.
He's 25, Evra's 30 and showed lapses of form last season, this player would again not improve the first 11, but definitely the squad, Fergie could do a bit of business to make the fee cheaper by offloading a youngster on loan, but the fee will probably be cheap anyway coming from Scotland and not hyper inflation England.
So what do you reckon? (Celtic fans please care to tell us what impact he's had for your team this season and do you really want to see him go?)

He is a classy wee player; has been a well deserved winner of the player of the year awards and I think he will get taken down into one of the bigger English clubs (perhaps even Spanish) at some stage. I'd love to hold onto him for at least one more season.
I agree Cole and Evra are better than him and that he would definetly enhance Man United's squad as a whole. And yes, if any of the sides around mid-table in the EPL had him, they would be quoting crazy fee's for him, so £8-10 million is good for him.

*he may look good in the SPL but the PL is a different ball game*
If you're good enough it doesnt matter which league you play in.
Look at the likes of Tommy Graveson....was excellent for Everton first time round, got a move to Mardrid and was a fish out of water in the 'inferior' SPL. He looked like a non league player at times....yet he was a star for an English Premier league side!

Thanks Vic, you just proved the point..untill this lad performs in the PL or La liga then we dont know if he is good enough

If thats what you think then you actually MISSED the point.
Just because he plays in the SPL doesnt mean he cant perform in England. Graveson proved he was good enough for the so called best league in the world yet he looked like a donkey in the SPL......

Here Betamax,
Is that MUFC who got beat by Celtic and couldnt beat Rangers at home MUFC you support?
You're a victim of the hype mate! We'd kick lumps outta most EPL teams.

If were buying a left back I would much rather go for Baines. He was one of if tnot the best player for EVerton last season and in my opinion should be starting ahead of Ashely Cole for England. He has a phenomenal left foot, quick, intelligent and good with the ball. Granted he is English and would likely carry a 20%premiu on his true value, but I would love to see him in our team.
I will admit have not seen Izaguirre play, so I can not compare the two.

Celtic would want around £4.5million for Izaguirre who has 44 international caps.

=====================
says who?.................
Believe me, we have struggled for a left back for the last 10 years so now that we finally have a good one 4.5m would not come close to being enough to get him, Hutton went for 9m and Izzy is at least twice as good.....
If he goes it will be £10m+
