Hughton in for Best and Routledge

Seem like he is after these guys from reports, personally think they would both be good signings and Hughton has worked with them both before. Thoughts?

Routlage would be a brilliant signing. Don't think he's prem quality but he will boss this division. He did last season and don't think he will cost much.

Don't rate Best at all. Think I read Newcastle want close to £4m for him.

Routledge has rejected a move to QPR, he does not have long on his contract at Newcastle and so they have listed him.

I think maybe he knows Hughton would come for him and he would be a ideal signing to keep us up, as far as Best goes i think he would be worth a go if we can get him on loan with a view to sign.

Whats eveyones problem? 11 games 6 goals thats a good record in the Prem if you ask me

His record at Coventry was ok the season Newcastle was promoted but he never did to well for Newcastle he has come to life in the Prem.

I think £4M is high and a risk would rather loan him first

Best's got a better return than Jerome that's for sure and the additional advantage that he has worked with Hughton before. Routledge would be an excellent signing.

Agreed Best was starting to shine last season in the limited games he had.

If the fee is like £2M that can rise to £4M based on promotion and performances then thats fine.

Because his Championship record is not worth £4M

£2M + £500K promotion bonus plus upto £500K a season addons would be ideal.

If we was to spend £3M+ i would rather go back for Derbyshire i am sure he would score at least 1 in 3 in the Championship.

I thought Derbyshire had got good movement but his confidence was shot. Came on very late and in 5 minutes might only get one touch. He does need to play off a target man and with attacking wingers.

Picture this.....

Your signed for a club in the Prem after a good spell aboard and while you know their will be competion for places you certainly never expected to few games.

Derbyshire must be puzzled, if you was in his shoes and saw McLeish play Jerome week in week out (could not buy enough goals) and even stick with a 4,5,1.

surely he must think "wish i had chances, i know i would score more in a 26 game run"

To then see your self hardly kick a ball, yet do well in the Cup.

To then be called upon during last few games when the "£$"£$ hit the Pan, and kowning you only got a chance because Jerome was not fit and most likely know you would be dropped once Jerome was fit.

If you was Derbyshire would you even be bothered, whats the point, If you was him you would know you ant getting games and chances are you would either not be signed or if signed only used in same manner.

McLeish really damages careers of attacking players, he made people view Sinclair as a joke, Bentley, Hleb and Derbyshire likewise. Hardly gave Zigic and Phillips enough chances.

But stuck with Jerome a man who never scored a single goal in 26 games.

When it comes down to attacking plan, players ALEX MCLEISH does not have a single Clue, i cant think of a Manager worse than he was for not having clue how to attack or use attacking players.

The fact McLeish wants to re-sign Reo-Coker and another CDM speaks volumes.

Blues where talking about best weeks ago , before AM left ,,so who tapped up who first, or should i say Woo tapped up Woo first .kro

You could be right beesknee. In Hughtons case, you couldn't really call it tapping up, because he was not employed by another club, but you have to wonder wether or not it was the reason AM resigned. It's more than just coincidence, that Best was one of Hughtons first signings at Newcastle. I doubt we will ever find out the real truth, as both parties will acuse and deny any wrong doing. It will all be forgotten about very shortly.
