Suarez and Evra....... Yawn

I really can't see what the fuss is all about myself, why is it newsworthy that two prize ****s like Suarez and Evra are being ****s to each other?

People only care so much because they have nothing of value in their own lives and if contemptuous individuals like these two are considered role models it's only because society has so little moral fibre of it's own these days.

instead they both act like spoiled children throughout because they are so insulated from the hardships of the real world that they think what happened between them is in any way important and the rest of us have to get our rrses bored off.
..........................

Wrong, no place for racism on the football pitch so well done to Evra for reporting it.

didn't say there was any place for racism, but this isn't racism, just puerile bull****

you disregarded half the post and chose only the bit that suits your agenda.

The only court that matters in this found that it was racist, and administered a reasonable punishment.

The word used, apparently, was negrito, it offended Evra and as it did Suarez chose to use it another ten times.

From Wikipedia, the word means a people from Southeast Asia, who resemble African Pygmy peoples. If that is true then I can see why Evra was, and is still upset, and even more so why Suarez should be further censured by the authorities. evra is not the biggest player, is negro and would be susceptible to this awful form of prejudice.

Racism in football is anything but over, unfortunately, & being apathetic about it only encourages the idiots who keep it there.

do you think racism is such a problem in football that we have to hear about it 24/7?

or would you acknowledge it is far from the greatest problem we face in society today?

Racism has only really come to the fore because of some recent high profile incidents, if you think racism in football is going to stay as high profile as it has been the past 2 months then you understand absolutely nothing about the media....

They will have their next big thing to focus on, be it Pippa's ass, a celebrity scandal or some big political event.

I think.......that people who try to suppress someone's freely held views on a subject, that are expressed in a thread on a message board which promote the eradication of racism in football, seem to be supporting the continuation of that problem by their very actions.

As for the size of the problem, that is complex. For me racism is the tip of a huge iceberg which IS the biggest problem that society faces, that of abuse, and yes, I do believe we should be talking about it more.

However, and to try to move away from the over dramatic.....People are not talking about this even 1/27, let alone the far too clichéd 24/7.

eihei dogen,

i simply don't believe that the suarez/evra situation is as much a far reaching social issue as it is an issue of two lowlives being lowlives to each other

the real issue here is how those two individuals see fit to treat each other, but everything has to be about black & white these days doesn't it?

electric_boogaloo you seem to be the one promoting B&W. This specific issue cannot be removed from the social climate it happened in, no matter how conveniently simple that is.
