Exactly, I hate these "2 wrongs make a right" justifications for a poor innings. So because Afridi also failed, Misbah's innings was better. How does that work?
Yes, Misbah has been a very good test captain in their hour of need and deserves to get respect for that.
But, I can't stand selfish innings that lose a match. I remember Jaques Kallis scoring 48 off 63 balls when SA were chasing 378 against Australia in the World Cup 2007. KP did the same in that World Cup vs Australia 104 off 122 balls and England only managed 83 runs of the final 20 overs. Chanderpaul has also done this many times, playing for his average and not for the team.
