The players that I heard that had a problem with AVB was Lampard, Cole and Esiien. So why were other players underperforming like Ramieres and Miereles and even Mata and Sturridge were no where near the form they were at the start of the season.

That's the reason he got sacked. I wanted to see him last the season at least but I understand why RA sacked him as things could only get worse. He has sacked managers for a lot less, so this was always going to happen.

He was obsessed with the job and used to treat the players like kids. Thats what I read somewhere. They didnt believe in him or respect him from the start. If they dont believe in him or his ideas, then he's got no chance at all of getting his tactics/ideas across. Man management is about 60% of the job. If you get them all onside, they'l put their bodies on the line for you out on the pitch. Seeing as he couldnt get through to them I suspect since he was appointed, this season was always gna head for disaster regardless of our "promising" early season games.

I laughed when I read about him spending 16 hour days at the training ground and sleeping in a Japanese-style pod. They must've thought he was a complete nutter.

Can you imagine Roman going into his personal bathroom at Cobham in the morning, and AVB's in there already brushing his teeth?
