He is a decent prospect very much so.

He does however go forward too much and his positioning is totally dodgy, things he defs has to work on.

And also the duncan edwards comparison, anyone who thinks that or has said that ever, even that he is similar, is on crack.

He's made mistakes, but also shown his quality. 19 years old!

I watched him quite a bit at Blackburn when he was playing CB and every time I saw him I thought he was brilliant, always telling my Dad that United should get him as a partner to Smalling (though Evans is staking his claim).

IMO right now he's not disciplined enough to be a first choice CB at United, and his current best position I think is CM. However, in the future he has the potential to be a good CM or the potential to be a great CB

Bobby Charlton said something similar. He said Phil reminds him of Duncan in a lot of ways.

I would definately value Sir Bobby's opinion on the matter.

It was Paddy who said it. He's backtracked since and claimed it was what SBC told him that he reminds himof DE.

However it seems with some posters that because Jones doesnt (yet) play like Edwards (as promised), he is now just an up and coming utlity player (like O'Shea) who will be a squad player.

Jones was bought as a CB. He will become one of the best this country has ever seen. However, if a section of United fans decide to destroy him at 19 then he doesnt stand a chance. Now would you call these people genuine United fans?
