Well done to Chelsea last night - my initial thoughts were mixed as to whether I wanted them to win or not, as if they did pull it off it could give them the momentum and confidence to go on a run, and potentially overtake us, but equally staying in the competition could be a distraction for them. Only time will tell which of those will be the case. However, another thought then occurred to me...
If we finish fourth, and Chelsea fifth, but they actually win the CL, who would go into the competition next year? I know this has been discussed many times since the Liverpool/Everton situation a few years ago, but I'm not sure if there is now a rule set in stone - if that did happen, would both teams go through, or the team in fourth, or the team who won it the previous year? It'd seem unfair on either team to miss out but I have a feeling UEFA said no more than four teams could be entered from England. Any idea anyone?

That was back in 2005 mate. Since then Barcelona have produced the greatest team in decades. Real Madrid are above them in the league at the moment. If one of those two dont win the champions league i will be very suprised.

"Fair play to Chelsea for winning last night. Was a good performance but they still have 0% possibility of winning the champions league. They will come up against, at some point, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern or even all 3!!!"
