An outsider coming in and asking questions the right questions,it seems there are certain people who don't take kindly tae that.

Yeah, that was quite an interesting read. It feels as though there are a can of worms which are set to open on this. The journalism up here is poor, maybe it will take someone like Mr Thomson and his research on this to change that

I hope so

Something about asking questions about RFC clearly angers some in the Glasgow media in a way I’ve never seen in 25 years of global reporting.

deBear, IE. I am not saying that Thomson is 100% correct and his finding are to be considered gospel. However, only an idiot would argue that the manner in which Rangers and there fans were dropped off the edge of a cliff is not concerning. Surely the journalists must have been able to carry out some extensive research before the crisis hit the club. They could have provided more information and quality work when it was required

The fact that this did not happen is down to one of two things IMO. Either they had more information and chose not to report them full at the time, or they were prevented access to any viable sources of information while thinking they weren't. Either way it looks as though someone was calling the shots the majority of the time.

Is that the 'well respected war correspondent', that, despite wars raging around the world... threatening the very fabric of our societies... was given the gig to report on Scottish fitba'?

He's the guy that posts pictures on to his blog of what he has for breakfast, right? Titles them 'succulent bacon'? Right?

Rangers fans have a go at a respected journalist for highlighting the poor quality of Scottish sports journalism and it's relationship with Rangers.

How shocked am I?!?

Totally agree IE. However, were they pash because they were poor at their jobs or due to the fact that they were restricted in their work?

I happen to think it is a bit of both

Timinator - wouldn't have made a difference. Murray wanted out, lloyds wanted their money and Whyte duped them
