I agree with your list of future players, and to be honest, everyone else is just not good enough at the moment.
Whether Carroll and Henderson et al come good or not is a different story.
I'm just really really frustrated how the big signings - Carroll, Downing and Henderson have not been good enough this season. The fact that Carroll is on the bench a lot suggests Kenny realises he's not that great.
Anyway, back to the topic. I can't see Carroll, Downing or Henderson or even Adam getting sold in the summer. Not a chance. That would be a huge admission that the players that were bought were not good enough. I just hope Liverpool don't perservere with them in the hope that they come good. If they are still poor next season then they have to go. You can't wait forever for someone to come good.
To improve the team, Liverpool need to buy players who are BETTER than the current first teamers. So someone who is better than Adam, Hendo, Downing and Carroll. Then it's down to Adam, Hendo Downing and Carroll to put some effort in and force their way into the team.
That's the bottom line. We have got to buy BETTER than the current FIRST TEAM.
Thats a lot of deadwood you have there. I do think Maxi has been poorly treated but a new club is what he needs.
The thing is Shelv, they shouldn't be allowed to stay having produced what they have produced whilst costing the club a fortune in funds and wages, ship them out i say.
I know it's not as cut and dry in the football industry, but it's like any job, if your not good enough at it, you should get your p45 - this applies to all the players not listed in the article.
Honestly can't believe how bad we are
I think Downing has shown signs that he may be worth persevering with, but the rest, I agree, are dead wood.
Problem is op, and be honest, looking at the targets you listed. Given our current form, results, and probable league position at the end of this season if things carry on as they are. How many of them do you think would choose to come to us?
Gylfi Sigurdsson is a Hoffenheim player and would not be available for free.
The whole world is scouting Eden Hazard by the way. Doubt he'd come to Liverpool.
Would be amazing if he does though
It depends if they are aware of a project so to speak, If Hazard saw names such as those listed he could be convinced, would he turn down the chance to play with Gerrard, Suarez, Soldado, on the best part of £100k a week, guaranteed start and Europa league for the first year ?
your right about Sigurdsson, i just checked he's contracted till 2012, my mistake.
2014* even, sorry hungover
I know what your saying, but if I was a foreigner, I'd move to Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Real, Barac, AC above Liverpool.
We are probably going to finish 7th, maybe 6th if we can catch Newcastle. It's going to have to be some project to tempt him and anyone else here.
On current form, I can't see us getting sixth Jonjo. Team confidence is rock- bottom if not non-existent. Time for our manager to earn his corn. Time for us to get behind our manager. Those on the outside, I.e. non-Reds are having a field day. Now is not the time for us to be seen to be feeding the bullets into their guns. Kenny needs and deserves our support. That's because we are Reds. YNWA JIMMYTheRed
The thing is we need squad players, so the likes of Maxi, Adam etc should stay, but our problem has been playing the 'squad' players week in week out, like Henderson and Adam.
Carroll will probably be given another year, but he really needs to step up, and quickly.
Oh and Downing is decent and is improving for us. I'd keep him.
