Steve Kean would actually be superb, but as a Scotsman I fear he'd turn us down

I want the England job. Fair enough I don't have any experience in Football management (computer games withstranding of course) but also I don't believe disabled people are paying for sins committed in previous lives.

So that puts me on level pegging with Hoddle.

Not sure if his pop career counts for or against him though

Glen Hoddle learnt his trade with Arsene Wenger at Monoco. Glen Hoddle is therfore the second greatest manager in the world.

Honestly i dont think its a bad shout!
Hoddle takes England to the Euro's we get knocked out in the quater finals at best.
And then Harry can take over after the Euros

Hoddle did well in his 1st stint until he started talking crazy about disabled people.
And he famously dropped Gazza, thats like dropping Gerrard!!!
He definately doesnt get influenced by the media or pundits, he's is own man and will make his own mistakes. He gets my vote

"Glen Hoddle learnt his trade with Arsene Wenger at Monoco."

That explains why he likes to recruit young men to the Glenn Hoddle "Academy" then.

Hoddle has a better win record as England manager than most and would be a good choice and option to consider. However his lack of work over this last year or two will go against him for sure.

What has Harry Redknapp ever done to suggest he will be a good manager for England? If Redknapp told me it was Monday I would check the calendar!!!

Arsene Wenger would be my first choice, but doubt the FA could prise him away from Arsenal.

I thought Hoddle did a good job. I liked his formation with 3 centre backs, and wing backs. It showed some forward thinking and not just sticking with 4-4-2 like every other engaland Manager

Give it to Ray Winstone. See how he handles the prima donnas in the England side...

Lol SKA.

Just give the job to Vinnie Jones instead. Not the footballer Jones, the actor Jones. That would amuse me.

Tactics are overrated. See how well they play when they are genuinely fearing for their well-being during every team talk.

I think Ozzy Osbourne should get the job. His full time interviews would be amazing. Better than watching England anyway.

"So Ozzy, what do you think went wrong in the match" said Motson,
" I dont ******* know do I, they are all ****, i can ******* play better than ******* that after 2 ******* tons of ******** coke and a ********* bottle of ******* brandy. ******* useless the ******* lot of them ******* ****, they sould **** off. They ******* lost and thats ******* that for ***** sake".Ozzy replied

I can see it now Ray Winstone telling John Terry Who's the Daddy now

Miles, you mis spelt 'should' I'm knocking you down a mark!

Oojw, are you effin serious? The England job is about motivating players and setting tactics to win qualifiers and tournaments. Wenger, nooooooo!

Dodgy car-salesman aside he's still my first choice...

I'd have to second your thinking as to Hoddle- on an interim basis at least. His England record is not to be sniffed at, though whether years out of the game would be to his detriment is another issue.

Just a pity he's a bit of a nutcase!

....Guess who does not like Arsenal????....

Whatever makes you think that?

Having said that, Wenger as a long term planner might have merit, developing players, working to budgets etc. In a purely results business though, as the England job is, I think he'd be dreadful!

It is high time a longer term approach was taken. Whatever we have been doing this last 20 years has clearly not worked has it! If you want something to change, then you need to make some changes.

For far too long we have picked players on reputation, not form and been far too scared to play and develope younger players. Wenger would not be frightened of playing kids and would not be frightened of our media or the powers that be either. I think he would be perfect for the job, but the FA would never be able to prise him away anyway as Arsenal know which side their bread is buttered.

I agree to an extent, unfortunately though the England manager only manages the England team. The FA'll association talk of root and branch change but it's bull.

Every level of football in this country is ridiculously competitive teaching win at all costs rather than skill. Not sure the England manager can change that...

good call, Wenger might be able to do for the English game what Cruyff did for Barcelona and Spain.
