Fergie the God - United will be under more scrutiny than other teams... that is true.
There is an element of swings and roundabouts in that though - Ferguson's comments carry more clout than a lot of other managers for example. That is just one of the realities about being a big side though.
Ah yes the ball comes down, hits a player on the arm and goes in, a punch.
---------------------
Hence the requirement for a 'celebrating wildly after punching the ball over the line' panel.
Do keep up.

United get less borderline penalty decisions than any other team.
I have no actual evidence to back this up, it is nevertheless absolutely true.
---------------------------------------------
If you were to go about proving this, how would you go about it? I know it would be impossible as you'd have to watch hundreds of games but out of interest, how would you achieve this?

They do and I agree! But it was the same with Shankley and Paisley when LFC dominated! But alas, all good things must come to an end!

It's in the same vein as 'United get all the dodgy decisions at OT'. You can't prove it, so you're free to spout any old garbage as fact.
Ah right debate over then. This board depresses me, no debate can be had. it's all put the defences up and attack.
"This board depresses me, no debate can be had. it's all put the defences up and attack."
A bit rich coming from a Liverpool fan Any hint of starting a debate on there gets opposition fans filtered!
By attack you mean disagree?
Ah right debate over then. This board depresses me, no debate can be had. it's all put the defences up and attack.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least you can debate and put up defences unlike the board you come from TOOR, because its usually:
Article by LFC
Comment by opposition disagreeing
Filtered for not agreeing with OP
So I see why you come here. It may not sit well always but at least you don't get filtered!
I really am losing faith in humanity because of the logic some people are using on this one.

I mean by not debating but just going on the defensive, then mocking the club and/or players of the debater.
Vidic all you are getting from that would be how many penalties per game on average a club concedes
.......................
That was the point of the statistic. Read the article attached by the OP. It tells you in black and white it's purpose.

Tell me, in your opinion, how would you go about dispelling/proving a 'myth' in regards to United getting more favourable decisions than other clubs in regards to penalty decisions?

yes and as I said that doesn't dispel the myth that United get more favourable penalty decisions. I mean you can't be this stupid can you?
I do not believe TOOR actually said this.
I have just sprayed coffee all over the monitor.
'Can you not hold a debate without resulting to idiocy'?
You better clean that monitor then, you'll not be able to see your own reflection otherwise and we couldn't have that.
What is the point of posting on here?
Is it just to show how much you support your club? Whereby if anyone says anything about your club you have to prove you love them more by disagreeing with anything bad ever ever ever...
Or is it for debate?
It would be interesting to see how people reacted to posts if the author's club was anonymous or we all were one side. If for example we were all United fans could we have a sensible debate without it turning into a silly "bigger than yours" type thread.
Or would it then just turn into an "I love united more than you" post with people proving their love by putting more kisses on the end of messages relating to a United player?
Let's remove all club bias and just look at this plain and simply...
Saying how many penalties have been given at a ground - does not say a lot. If a penalty or a number of penalties have been given at a ground, it proves that penalties are given there... so anyone claiming no penalties are given there is wrong.
It does not and can not prove that a team does or does not get preferential treatment. It is simply not proof!
A better indicator would be to take the actual possession in the opposing half enjoyed by a team and divide that by the number of penalties awarded.
That has the advantage of not being pie in the sky and subjective.

Ah yes, here we go, the ABU's are out to get us, they're debating with us and we don;t agree, let's shout ABU from the rooftops.
Grow up for crying out loud.
I'm not sure what makes people ABU's who state the way to dispel this 'myth' is to take the number of correct decisions given against and for, in the penalty area. I mean it isn't an attack on United, it's the best method for proving the point. Why are the defences up?
