Political interference by Scotland's first minister can't help after what FIFA and UEFA have said about it.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but could the SPL/SFA be in cahoots to keep every Scottish team out of Europe if Rangers "urny allowed tae play"?

posted on 13/4/12

Been saying this for long enough...if the SFA dont act approriately UEFA will boot RFCs hole mercilessly

posted on 13/4/12

Yep, and they want to sabotage the Scotland team too.

Was like reading a beautifull poem

well put.

MSM, the problem is the SFA will be getting their erses toed and Celtic will suffer for it.

Ach well that's what we get for being in a third world country.
Botswana FA has more integrity than SFA or SPL.

Don't bother them with facts, Dos.

Seriously, what do the Gers fans think is a fair outcome to all of this?

Wonder if they will act as firmly on the various Spanish clubs who owe around 5 times as much in total as Rangers possible could in worst case scenario, to the Spanish government in tax? (thus breaking a basic rule which allows a European License to be granted)

Or if they will tackle the EPL clubs' debts - you know, like Man Utd owing more than 5 times their annual turnover, or having a wage bill 30% higher than their annual turnover.

??

Dos, let's see what UEFA have to say after the newco parachute into SPL.
They may change their tune.
They could ban all SFA teams from their competitions. But as I said before you and the rest of the berz couldny gie wan.
Fekin desperadoes. Take your punishment like men instead of whinging about everybody being against you.

quebec Celt
If Celtic can claim no wrong doing and that the SFA are errrrr.......a bit dodgy or not sticking to the rules, could be a lever out of Scottish Football. Uefa would, if they punish Celtic as well, be seen to be punishing one of the financially most efficient and well run clubs in Europe. Would not be a message they would want to send. Other well run clubs in other leagues would be disgusted if Uefa were to adopt such a stance. Other well run clubs would be in fear of anyone in their league misbehaving. Dont recall all Italian clubs etc etc being punished. SFA would have to toe the line, as International football would suffer also.

BTW - Guy on CLyde talkiing about far reaching repercussions for International football results, European club football results in the past, if rfc are found guilty of playing players who were misregistered, Dutch and English players etc.

The hole gets deeper and deeper. We will soon be in the Earths sub strata.

Forever and ever UEFA will hammer Scottish football as a whole and will rip RFC(IA) to shreds

Davie,
Were Spanish, English clubs guilty of tax evasion?????
Its not just debts, its the reputation of football in the eyes of the greater public and respectability of Uefa. If they do not act then effectively they are condoning tax evasion. They must be seen to be very harsh, as must HMRC.

BAWS IN THE SLATES I am afraid.

Loose the BTC and the spadefuls of earth will resound on the lowered coffin from 6 ft.

Forever - UEFA rules state that European license will not be awarded if you owe monies overdue to tax authorities.

New financial fairplay rules from UEFA (not the Mickey Mouse rebel 10 proposals) put limits on turnover / debt ratios.

And as I have said before, HMRC have a statutory duty to recover as much cash as possible. If a CVA gets more than a liquidation, they are obliged to go with CVA.

HMRC want the precedent of a win against Rangers. The payment total is almost immaterial, when the BIG money is down south.

If HMRC win, I would expect various EPL clubs to start writing cheques to HMRC VERY quickly to settle any possible liabilities.

Arsenal were smart & did it early - others will end up paying FAR more just to settle.

Mexican,
Only if SFA dig their heels in. They would have to shrug their shoulders and apologise to RST etc.......would be the perfect get out for them, in fact they may be very relieved.

I suspect the outcome could well be an attempt to let them back into SPL, followed by a rapid turn around and an apology to rfc and their fans, who would see Uefa as the culprits.

I fear that the revival of newco may face almost insurmountable barriers from Uefa and HMRC in terms of the first 5 years or so financially, what with tax bonds, etc, Ticketus possilby winning a court case over seats at Ibrox, having to rent Ibrox from Whyte etc etc.

Future does not look good and Uefa will let Scottish football diminish(it will not die, because of Celtic) and shrink in order that European football faces a financially viable future without clubs evading tax and running up unpayable debts.
BTW most PL big clubs are and can serve their debts and will be better able to do so when ALJezeera and Sky bid and counter bid each other for PL TV deals.

Here's one for you Duke.....

And a woman spoke, saying, “Tell us of Pain.”

And he said:

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;

And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.

And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.

Much of your pain is self-chosen.

It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.

Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:

For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,

And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.

Davie,
HMRC have a written policy that in the case of Tax Evasion they will not accept a CVA but will force liquidation regardless of potential monies recovery. They see tax evasion as intolerable and punishable in the harshest possible terms, so that others get the message.
If rfc lose the BTC and are proved guilty of tax evasion, HMRC WILL and are DUTY bound to carry forward a winding up order at court asap. Could be result of BTC announced today and winding up order tomorrow.
