yes rest players carrying knocks like Fahey, maybe play another CM for experience such as Ntwambe, maybe even rest Davies (is he on 9 yellows or something)
just read original mail properly, yes rest Davies
I wouldnt rest players, i'm hoping that we win and blackpool lose so we finish 4th and that means the second leg is at st.andrews!
If we lose we could drop 6th and get west ham in the playf offs and the second leg would be at upton park!
I'm happy to just be in the play offs but lets try get the easiest route possible to the premier league! only team i hope we avoid in the semis is cardiff!
We need to think things through about whether to rest players - but, we are a very tired and have limited quality resources to get the job done - as borne out by hanging on in the last 4 games when just 1 win and the extra points would of taken some pressure off a bit. Chris will probably rest Davies as he is on 9 bookings and just 1 away from a ban...realy need Carr/Spector & Fahey fit to stand a chance of progressing further though...have done really well to finish the right end of the league table though after selling all the premiership players!
I think we will rest all the players on saturday, as will all the other teams beings that everybody plays on the sunday
U13759 = Nitwit!!
All Championship sides play Sat.28th Kicking Off at 12.30pm.
A nitwit indeed must be a Dingle!
Sorry people my mistake I just presumed last day of the season was on a sunday as per. As fot the nimwit and dingle, i'll take being a nimwit anyday
Carr was in the gym putting in a strenous shift about 10 days ago, I'm hoping that means he stands a chance of a game before the end of our super extended season.
Great result for Blues, playoffs guaranteed, quite an unbelievable achievement by a man destined for greatness, our very own Chris Hughton!
Don't rest anyone yet,we need to make sure we finish 4th to get Blackpool over 2 legs, then most likely West Ham.
The hardest part is yet to come,we need everyone now more than ever for the final push!
Chris Hughton has a plan,we need to get up to the Prem. to give ourselves the very best chance of keeping hold of him. There's already a few clubs casting an appreciative eye over him, laughably Wolves being one of them!
Relax even a little bit now and it'll all be over in the blink of an eye,we must stay strong!
A funny curiosity, maybe it's a bad omen for Birmingham if you finish 4th - no championship team finishing 4th has gone up via play-offs for, what is it, over a decade now I believe! Make it 3rd or 5th !!!
If it was me I would rest players next week.
I would like to finish 4th just for the away game to be on the Friday night but if we finish 6th th away game will be bank holiday Monday so that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
The players looked tired towards the end on Saturday, however tere are not many players left that we can play.
I would play Redmond and Townsend and rest Burke and play Rooney and Eric upfront but other than that we have no players to bring in!
If Davies gets booked it will be ok ,he started a clean sheet a couple of weeks ago.. kro
I think there may be a couple of changes however, CH will not want to go into the play offs on the back of a defeat and there is still 4th place to play for. Hopefully we can get a positive result and go into the play offs with momentum and confidence. KRO
Fantastic news regarding Davies if that is true.
I'm kinda of hoping despite how much I hate them that west ham pip Southampton to the play off spot because west ham on a bit of a roll at the minute and hitting form plus saints would be absolutely gutted having been top 2 all season and I couldn't see them recovering to win the play offs
Tonight's result was probably the best we could have hoped for. Obviously, it depends on where we finish, but we could be playing either Southampton or West Ham in the play off semi- either way we'd be playing a very very disappointed team that won't have had the luxury of resting key players in their final league match of the season.
How did you work out that we will play southampton or west ham in the semis ? 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th. So your either saying we will finnish 6th or you've got it muddled up
U13759,
I said we could play them, not would, depending on where we finish; . there's always a chance that we will finish 6th if Cardiff win and we don't. Whoever we play, we're in for a battle though.
Bluenoseden your right on both counts we could end up 6th and be in for a battle, but I dont buy into playing home 2nd leg. Remember 10 years ago ? Millwall home 1st leg, and we still got to the millenium
