Well, mostly we went 6 years without winning anything whilst (sometimes) playing the best football. Not sure why you're surprised about his comments, seems pretty accurate to me.

FA Cup final, 2005. Who missed the penalty that cost United the cup?

He's right, but it's very unusual for an ex-player to attack a club like that

@ Hippo.

I wish he had said that, that would warrant a mention in the media - as it is he said, well, nothing really.

I actually dont agree with him. You can call our pretty football pointless while we dont win trophies, but its about integrating a new, better, way of playing into the club. When it clicks success will be much more enjoyable (for me at least) than winning with a more bland style

"Hardly an attack."

Exactly, it's the sort of comment you hear all the time, from players and pundits - just Sky (or whoever) trying to get some mileage from a nothing comment by the timing of it all in a sort of "Ooooh Arsenal are falling apart, they're world is ending, let's all poiont and laugh" kind of way.

Even in a teacup - this wouldn't be far up the Beaufort scale.

Just said whats on most Arsenal fans minds. Its true. If fergie went 6 years without a trophy in this current times, do you really think he would sit around playing the waiting game and give his team one more year to prove themselves?

No. Heads would roll.

No. Heads would roll.

if that 6 year period was entirely anticipated and planned for during a period of moving into a new stadium and paying off the loans for that stadium, while maintaining top 4 (the aim) and actually exceeding expectations by getting to finals and being in the title race, one would hope that people with a bit of knowledge of the game would stick by their manager, while people who don't rant and rave because there havent been any trophies for a couple of years.
