it seems any crunch game against another big team, it is always an up hill battle or us (other than against spurs or city funnily enough).

The utd howard webb game, the barca game, the other night, any game officiated by that fat B@stard Graham Poll, countless times up at anfield, remember owen being allowed to retake a missed penalty up there one year?
What about lampard v west ham having to take 3 penalties.

That game against qpr where we got two sent off in about 20 minutes?

Ridiculous the stuff that has gone against us.

Thoughts on VAR for me are also this:
People say VAR spots more errors so therefore it is fairer but imo it gives officials or the higher ups to find any sort of infringement or anything happening in order to get the desired result they want if a ref (who could potentially already be biased) misses it.

Find VAR to be such a nightmare and so inconsistent.

You generally cannot celebrate any goal because they'll look for any ridiculous reason to rule it out. A slight nudge in the build up for example.

The offside rule I get but it's like a science lesson now, oh his little toe was offside so we'll rule it out.

Inconsistency is annoying, Son was sent off for kicking out but Maguire does something worse, no punishment.

There are monitors for refs to look at but no they'll never go over and have a look themselves.

For me it's ruined the excitement of games. Whenever we score, I just have that feeling it's going to get ruled out for something so stupid.

I didn't celebrate girouds goal on tuesday, and saw my dad didn't either, then when they chalked it off, the dissapointment on his face made me feel sick. Really has killed a lot of the enjoyment forme and people will start tuning off soon.

Yup it gives officials and refs more opportunity to be biased. Not saying that they definitely were on Monday night but whether by design or not we got done over badly.

I think that the powers that be would much rather the likes of Man Utd get CL football than us.

Yeah, it just adds more potential to this, or subconcious bias atleast or being picky for the sake of it.

For example, if someone scored a last minute goal in a knock out game, the potential is there to look over it with a fine fine toothcomb and to basically "plant" an issue with the goal.

There's more and more steps. Especially in a contact sport, on a sunday morning, zoumas goal is never chalked out, and the fact azpi gets a push in the first place is ridiculous.

The not being able to celebrate a goal now has taken so much of the fun and spontanaity out of the game. Also hate the way that every tiny little foul is picked up on when a goal is scored.

The reality is that a big chunk of the goals scored in the PL era would probably had been disallowed if this version of VAR had been around since the beginning.

Yup the danger is that being this picky about tiny little infringements in the box that would never have been picked up on before is that it will make football a non contact sport virtually which isn't what this sport is about. It is a contact sport.

Apparently a change to the offside rule is imminent.

Instead of measuring whether any part of your body is offside, they will now check to see if any party of your body is onside.

This stinks of good sense and as such has no place in our game

Re Skiing. Bormio in Italy is very good if you are at intermidiate level. It also has a challenging run from top to bottom for advanced skiers. Beautiful scenery. The apres ski is very good if you like Italian cuisine. It is also a spa town and has a natural hot water spa set in caves. The tour rep went beyond the call of duty as she kindly rubbed mud in my chest and shoulders much to my wife's dismay. Also recommend using snow bikes in the evening they are similar to jet skis and good fun after dark. Beautiful town as well with cobbled streets. A few bars but no night clubs so not for all. Livigno is nearby which is a duty free resort.

Its better for strikers and fans and shd be cleaner, although at the end of the day it is still going to entail a bunch of kants in an office deciding if part of the body is onside or not, versus the current situation of deciding if a part of the body is off side

I love the Dolomites, and this is a great resort, but more for intermediate and beginners rather than advance skiers.

If you are a big skier who likes long days skiing, then then Corchavel or any of the trois valley resorts offer extensive and diverse skiiing.

Morzine is beautiful, but you need to be good as plenty of tough skiing

I knew itd be a rough season but it's becoming rough for the wrong reasons. I suppose transfer bans, if they were upheld, would've likely brought upon injury issues anyways.

Damn some of these ski resorts sound awesome. I've been to a couple of ski resorts in France but not for donkeys.
