VAR will stitch us up today if we get on top
i dont have any faith anymore that football isnt corrupt towards the "elite"

The FA doing everything they can to get united into top 5
Uefa have already brazenly said we shouldn't be in the CL because of the Ref in the Ajax game so will even that out tonight

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah football has nearly always been corrupt towards the elite. Just look at the decisions that Fergie's Utd got over the years. It was almost impossible to get a pen awarded at Old Trafford for opposition teams. It's still not easy mind.

I had hoped that VAR would create a totally even playing field for all teams but going by this season that hasn't remotely happened. We've been just as stitched up as we always we're in previous seasons.

In fairness though Kepa's stats this season have been among the worst of any keeper in the PL. I totally agree with Frank dropping him for these games that he has as Willy is a solid keeper still.

Not sure how things work going forward though as Kepa's value will plummet if he's not played. Then again do we want top four this season or do we want to worry about Kepa's price tag ?

I agreed with the initial dropping. but think he should be back in. He had enough faith gathered from last year in my book too.
I actually dont think hes been as bad as others do this year either.

Said earlier Kepa's stats are strange.

Apparently he has the lowest save percentage in the league, but also has only made one error that has directly lead to a goal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
agree.
Obviously its not the case. But if every shot he faces is skyrocketed into the top corner then that stat counts for absolutely nothing.

Kepa is rarely ever beaten from distance, hes conceded a couple through weak wrists but most goals hes had no chance.

Not sure it matters who our goalie is tonight if I'm honest we might get tanked anyway.

Also I'm starting to get really annoyed with our injuries

Where the fack is pulisic he's been out for facking ages and it's all a bit wierd

Kante
Cho

Really annoying

I would be tempted to put Kepa back in tonight.

Dropping him was the right decision IMO. There was no highs or lows in his performances, he was just plateauing towards mediocrity. He needed a kick up the arrow as it did look like he had potential at times

I think hes had a couple great perfromances, Liverpool supe cup, and was it brighton away or something?

Random stats

Our last four games v Bayern have averaged over 4 goals per game

Bayern hit a max 18 of 18pts in the groups with a GD of +19

Might buck the trend a bit tonight...if we get away with 1-1 that'll represent a very decent night...more likely we'll lose by one I reckon

1999/00 was back during that weird period the CL experimented with two group stage rounds. Which I still can't get my head around to this day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah was a weird time all round really with getting rid of the CWC around that time too.

Annoying thing about the barca game is a bit of luck and we could have dragged ourselves over the line and then got Valencia.

And then we would have got madrid in the final.
Both Valencia and madrid were average that year and madrid we had beaten in the super cup the year prior.

Still regret that 98/99 year the year before though, never had a better chance to win the league pre roman, we had an exceptional team but had some bad injuries and poor results near the end. Utd fighting on three fronts and would have dismissed all that "no history" talk from everyone once roman came in.

PL
Fa cup x 2
Cup winners cup
League cup

within 3 years. would have been amazing.
