At this point, it's a question of not having enough ventilators to cope with the mass influx of patients of with bilateral pneumonia. The ventilator is what keeps them alive while the body battles the infection. Both the UK and the US are saying they desperately need more ventilators for a very good reason.

The reason it's come to this is a different question. I'd say it's basically about a lack of adequate preparedness and prevention, owing both to cultural attitudes and political indecision.

We've been in lockdown for two weeks and we still haven't adequately sorted out testing, ffs!

You can't just void the season. It would be so unfair on Liverpool who basically have the title won already. It would practically be impossible for Liverpool not to win the title from the position they're in with as many games as they have left to get the required six points.

And that's based on City winning their remaining ten games which they won't. Liverpool could win the title even if they lost their remaining nine games if City lose only two of their last ten games.

Surely the rest of the season just resumes whenever matches can be played again.
