Soc, be careful. Cover yourself in as much of whatever you can find as possible.

Yeah that must be part of it Oscar. But I think there must be something that is a pre-existing, endogenous risk/protective factor for the severity of symptoms. Eg. Kids are not getting severe symptoms - kids all over the world would still be exposed to high viral loads.

Germany’s death toll is now 600, and the average age of victims was 80, the respected Robert Koch Institute has just announced (other estimates put the toll at 650). Just 31 out of the 600 were aged under 60, Süddeutsche Zeitung reports. Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia are the worst-hit regions

I feel like sporadic cases of young adults getting servere symptoms dominate media and social media and rightfully so, it’s important it’s recognised. However the asymptomatic cases is still another bizarre thing for me.

I posted the news story before but it’s still been in my mind since. Valencia FC tested all their staff and players mid-March and THIRTY FIVE percent of them tested positive - ALL asymptomatic. Mad

I would barely have known about all these asymptomatic cases if not for the Haven. Maybe its not scaremongery enough for mainstream media to report on.

In theory then huge amounts of people could have had covid 19 and not ever even known about it. Maybe the vast majority of people that get it are almost completely asymptomatic. I'm not sure how they'd know otherwise at this stage as only a miniscule portion of the world's population have actually been tested so far.

Let's hope the social distancing has had an impact. In about a week we should be able to see if the curve is flattening

We are doubling at a rate of 2.5 days, meaning by Friday it could be 4,000. If the peak is the week of April 13-20, let's argue Wednesday 15th April...then it is possible this could be 30,000 plus.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
seems to change every day, i don't think our death numbers will exceed 12,000. Our cases will probably hit 80k-100k though by end of april then flatten out

Little bit of good news

Italy starting to slow down from the 4,000’s - 7,000’s

There are 2,107 new infections compared with Monday's figure of 1,648. The official total now is 77,635 cases. That's a 2.8% rise in positive cases, slightly up on Monday. BBC Rome correspondent Mark Lowen says while deaths are still high, the infection rate is far lower than previous days.

Italy should be ok in a few weeks

Just need Spain to start now

NPE I have a question for you.

If I was to accuse somebody's argument of being a straw man, is my accusation an ad hominem against them?

It's important to see the pattern in the media where they are now addidng to any headline daily

"including x amount of healthy people"

Luca Di nicola is not confirmed of dying of corona virus he was suspected based on his symptoms.

They already had to retract one wrong headline about that Middleton girl
