Textbook false dilemma fallacy...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm all ears to what you think is the solution
I keep asking
People's mental health should never take a back seat. And we're not just taking about the implications for people with mental health problems. The psychological implications for mentally healthy people as well could be catastrophic. Locking people in their houses all day is totally unprecedented and the long term effects are completely unknown.
And take into account not everyone is able to live in a nice house or in a happy household. Some people will be confined to tiny accommodation all day long like a prison cell. Not to mention the people living in unhappy and stressful households or people in bad or abusive relationships. How will they cope when they're basically locked in all day ?
And there is zero evidence that locking people up in their homes and not allowing them to even go outside to get fresh air and some exercise will help to stop the spread of this anyway.
As long as people stay more than two metres apart when they go outside to excercise and get fresh air then what's the problem ?? How is that any more dangerous than letting people go to confined supermarkets while breathing the same air, touching the same things and coming into much closer distance to each other than anywhere else ?

Well one way of dealing with it could be to to increase the punitive punishment of fines if caught out.

Totally agree with this
