That would count agst him in any position. I don't k ow what is wrong with Havertz atm, but he gives the impression that PL football is just too different for him

Rangnick on Havertz: "He's one of those players where I don't see any weaknesses in his game. He's the type of modern Johan Cruyff - he can score goals and he can provide assists.

"He can play as a nine or nine-and-a-half. I don't see him as a winger but in the central area of the pitch, he's extremely valuable. I have no doubt that this transfer will prove to be a success story for Chelsea and for Kai."

He probably sees weaknesses in him now. Different Leagues present different challenges

As things stand, I can't actually believe I am saying this, but we might as well go back to 4 2 3 1 and just try and outscored teams. We are conceding all the time in 4 3 3 anyhow.

At least 4 2 3 1 might ressurect Havertz and Werner.

We have nothing to lose. We ain't gettiing getting relegated and chances of top 4 are wafer thin... So just go for it

Try it again agst Luton.

Looks like a number 10 to me, best when getting into the box and most effective in between the line.

As an 8, he comes far too deep and looks a bit lost in the role.

He's a bit of passenger right now, likewise his German buddy

He can change that as Lampard did.

If Lampard can do it, then fail to see why Havertz, a much more technically gifted player can't.

I agree that a no 10 is probably his favourite position though.

Could do the 4-2-3-1 and use Mount in the double pivot. Which to me is his best position.

I think it's difficult to fit him and Werner together unless we play a 442 diamond.

Werner doesn't look capable of leading the line unless the opposition plays a high line where he can run in behind.

Try a 442 with Giroud and Werner together

Unless we suddenly find a passing and movement game not sure any formation matters.

But I fell Giroud always gives us more balance in attack. Even in his quieter games. I would pick him for most matches and I think Frank has really wasted him

Even agst high line teams Giroud is the best option because of his link up play.

have we too many to choose from up front, then Frank plays them outta their best position?

its not common for Chelsea with attacking options, but we clicked until December, albeit not beating top five teams!

The problem I have with playing a front two to get the best out of Werner is that is he really worth it? Is he that good to drop one of our wingers/midfielders for?

Weird scenario of too many attacking options๐Ÿ˜ž

Werner would be fine if he was taking his chances. Changing formation won’t make him suddenly stop missing. He has no confidence

I'm alright TBAB, just taking it easy for the next few days. Hopefully, I will be back at work Monday or early next week - just need to see if the antibiotics do the trick.

Yeah it should be a nice easy game. I would be quite excited to see some more youth players!

60, that's a long time ago - Gavin Peacock scored a brace that day!

He has 5 offside goals and has hit the woodwork 5 times, plus countless missed chances. Formation isn’t his problem

I think Mount would be better further back the pitch.

He's arguably better defensively than all of our midfielders besides Kante.
