I think that was a game we wouldn’t have won if it was played three weeks ago, but I also think a title contending would have swatted them away and cruised.

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag was under consideration at Chelsea this season, it has been revealed.

The Dutchman, says AD, was on Chelsea's shortlist of names to replace Frank Lampard ahead of his January removal.

However, in the end Chelsea went with free agent Thomas Tuchel, who was available after his Christmas Eve sacking by PSG.

Ten Hag was also linked with Borussia Monchengladbach, though reports of talks with the Bundesliga club have been denied.

It's also suggested there was no direct contact with Chelsea, though his name was on the list under consideration by directors

Was a poor game lastnight, but very positive signs from Werner, or more positive than previous matches. Seemed to enjoy the space giroud created in behind. Done a few nice runs down the left too then rushed the cross when I think if he was more confident could have been more dangerous situations. Worked well with mount too.

Wonder who will be involved against Barnsley as the more confidence for certain players, the better

Pundits are chirping on about bowling at a specific time...never heard such tosh, - we could have had them two or three wickets down now, with a declaration at tea

All it's done is pretty much taken a potential win away & replaced it with a probable draw...unless England have an absolute stormer of an hour today & see them off tomorrow...no way India are winning, or having any intention of doing so
