One note on Mount, if he played Werner in that would have been our goal of the season imo

He had another chance to play Werner in a few minutes later that he messed up. Should’ve played it to Werner earlier instead he played it down the line giving Werner no chance from that right angle.

I also think Werner’s run could have been better in that situation. He was angling his run to the left/wide position but there was more space centrally if he moved further right, away from the defender

Do we like what we've seen of Chilwell at wing back so far?

He was pretty tidy last game

He was improved last game. I think he enables more dynamic attacks than Alonso

In other words just less slow at the very least..it does make a difference

Wonder what TT’s thoughts are. Has he also grown tired of Alonso, is he just rotating/resting, is Chilwell now first choice, who knows

I think Tuchel might have thought Chilly needed extra training before he was comfortably putting him at WB

But really Chilwell is just the superior player and the switch over was inevitable

I don’t really like Chilwell or James as wingbacks. Both play like fullbacks so it becomes a 5 defender formation.

Whereas CHO and Alonso are more like wingbacks.

Yep Chilwell and James don’t offer much as wing backs. I don’t know what’s happened to James, doesn’t look half the player he looked in the opening 2 months of the season.

I think this is a good balance

CHO has impressed me in that role and I don’t particularly rate him as one of the inside forward players. Seems his best performances involve stretching teams as wide as possible.
