it wasnt ghostly against bornmuf jacko nor will it be against mk......less of the constant doom and gloom....we would only ever fill the stadium if we were in the premiership!!
deano keeps putting his money where his mouth is!!...the people of udders should do the same!!
Constant 'doom and gloom' ? ffs sake , read some of my posts you *anker !
And if you read this post, you would see 'apart from the odd play off game...etc...',
Barca, you say stuff without any knowledge of what the subject is, don't read the post properly, and jump on the effing Bootsy bandwagon of ANYONE who says anything at all that is ...slightly...suggestive of improvement areas, is ANTI TOWN.
You and your Bootsy crew ask for BLIND Loyalty, ignoring any suggestions for team changes, improvements in the stadium atmosphere and so on...you just want everyone to shut up and not have any opinions ? Well barca, news for you cocker...eff off !! this is a board of different opinions
the teams above us in the league offer only the same sort of incentives.. sheffield is a big city lots of people, therefore its probably true they have more people able to afford the season tickets at the price quoted at the start of the season..this has always been the case and probably more so now..
towns home crowd average in 1970/71 was just over the 20k mark, i believe, when everyone "had a job" and the prices were not stupid to watch a game.. we were also in the top league..
Ithink the 24k stadium was a reflection of the finite amount of people that would watch town whatever league we were in..its probably not enough for say, man utd at home if we were both towards the top of the premier league, or a couple of other games involving l-eds or whoever..the games against wigan, bolton, blackburn etc etc wouldnt fill the seats by any means..
Selling a load of season tickets at heavily discounted prices does not take into account the games against our current rivals like yeovil, bournemouth, stevenage etc.. you discount those at the time of playing them..ie; you sell off your "lost leaders" to get bums on seats for the lessser games in the hope that it leads to sales of the full price tickets in the future..
because we havent "enthused" a load of people to join the "club" this season isnt going to lead to a mass discounting for next year..At least we have been able to buy season tickets at a reasonable price even before knowing what league they will be for..
Until we make money inside the ground, bums on seats at heavy discounted prices isnt helpful for htfc ltd...
when you are as successfull as deano jacko....then give him advice!
we had season tickets for a hundred quid a few seasons back....did we sell 25.000? NO....we sold just over 16.000
all this drop the price and they will come is nonsence!!...if he charged a quid for the playoff game would we get 25,000...again no we just dont have that many fans
barca, you don't need to be a brain surgeon to work out that if you have 25,000 cards to sell, and only sell 8,000...then the price is wrong. What planet are you on ?
If Deano sells them cheaper, I want the difference paying back
I have contacted the club several times to ask why they don't do a monthly DD option now they have the technology of swipe cards -and now it seems they have. Hard to justify not paying now....never heard of Zebra finance though......who are they?
they wont be cheaper..but stand by for lots more "discounted games" if we dont get up.. bet its nearly every other one..
crawley took 45 fans to bradford the other week!!!!!
Capacity is only something like 22500 for safety reasons. And you can't season tickets for all of them. You have to leave some room for the away fans.
At the moment we leave 4000 seats vacant for away fans, and usually only sell them all once per season, but I think you still have to leave a certain percentage of your total ground capacity vacant for the away supporters....
So lets say we take the pink link stand back for town fans only. Then put the away fans in the lower tier of the fantastic media, which has a capacity of just under 2000.....
This now means that the maximum capacity for Town fans would be 20500....
We can currenlty attract 14000 - 15000 Town fans for good home game, so we just need to attract another 5000 - 6000 and we will be full....
We will get this amount next season if we get thru the Play Offs....So problem solved...
I'm sure a few of the 35000 part timers that went to Old Trafford will turn up on Tuesday night to fill the ground anyway...So whats your problem...All looks fine and dandy from where I'm sat..
move the family stand to the pink link end.. shove visitors in that end.. forget all the cr=p about coaches not being able to park, we go to loads of places where the coach drops off then has to go away and come back later.. we have loads of fans who go out out via the st andrews car park anyway..
its a "made up problem"... other than visiting disabled fans no one else could park in that car park and i dont remember any club thinking too hard about our parking problems when visiting them!!!!
stick em in the sun and the rain.. because if they had our ground thats where we would be going as away supporters..
Your bang on Jacko, The only difference is the cards can stay on the shelf and be sold another day, The seats cannot,, Tangible and intangible,, Empty seats are wasted,, Unfortunatley as we do not have an end that is unreserved, Where floaters can go down with mates who are ticket holders and sit/stand be together, Many will be put off, Whats the point of going if you are going to be sat on your todd,, Nothing to do with where away fans go or which part of the ground they are sat/stood,,,,, Simple fact is that footy is too expensive and is not value for money,,,,,,,,,,,,, As for the "It doesnt matter as Town make no money from in ground sales",,,,,, Forty grand wasnt it ?????? Cutting your nose off to spite your face,,,,, 40 fooking grand is what a few of our overpaid underperformers have been taking home for little over a months wages in the last couple of seasons,,, Kilbane was probably on more !! Not a good business decision from a succesful businessman considering the extra power and income stream possibilities shelling out 40k would have brought ! A little cash for a lot more power.
At last , someone with some brains El Aurans..
Myth, 'everything looks fine and dandy' ??? Crikey, can I have some of what you are on please...Gates are already 1,000 per game DOWN on last season at 14,000 (including away fans)...so in anybodies maths..that's 10,000 empty seats ( we had 24,500 against Liverpool a few years ago).
Explain to me in simple language, because obviously I must be simple, how is it economical to have 10,000 empty seats for each of 23 games every year ? Are you honestly telling me that is okay ??

Why the fook is the safety capacity 22k when the ground holds 24500 ????? All the stands are self contained,,, Its a godsend we did not build a proper bowl like MK otherwise our SSafety mob would be papping themselves,, I can just imagine it now with all the corners empty just in case,,,,,,,, Jacko against Liverpool we only had 23500 due to safety ???? I dont notice other sides having grounds that they are not allowed to fill apart from the silly Uefa ruling where the bottom seats are empty ??? Why ?
Myth...I can't believe you are so simple....you have revealed we are in a recession...as we are ...yet your 'solution' is obviously to keep putting the prices up !!
Stunning mate, totally stunning....
...and you find me depressing ?? jeez
Myth - You talk in riddles,, There is a recession on ! So obviously folk are not going to pay top dollar to watch third tier,,, So you are now agreeing with Jacko,, Empty seats are wasted seats, Lost revenue,, You cannot sell em after the event,, Not good business practice, Just because you have been a success in one industry does not mean you will be a success in another.
we built a main stand..a main "popular stand"...
one tier behind one goal and a sort of two tier at the other end..
lots of people dont like sitting behind a goal..they prefer to be down the sides..they dont want to pay "main stand" prices so opt for the popular stand(kilner bank).. we have maybe 1000 or so who want desperately to sit/stand behind a goal.. unfortunately we have given that end to the "families" and the pink link is too big for 99% of the away support and too big for our home support who wish to use it..been proved a load of times already.. the old cowshed could be full with not that many in it..
until we get championship football and can add 3/4 thousand every home game it will stay as it is..
Jacko - You are debating with someone who booked their jollies when the play offs were on last season,, Myth clearly thinks and plans ahead.

Jacko
It’s about optimum pricing. 16 thousand sold at £100 in the centenary year generated £1.6m. 8 thousand sold at £300 generates £2.4m.
Some things sell disproportionately more if they are reduced. Cards may be one but based on the above figures Town season tickets is not.
Nail on the head 38, As it now stands, No pun intended, The FM lower would have been the perfect end to allow unreserved entry where folks are allowed to stand for longer periods, As far away from away fans as possible, Easy to keep an eye on, And an option for 1500 people to gather in one end....
Oi..Brycey...
Last year I booked my spring bank holiday in December....And at that time we were playing really good football, and I was certain that we would either win the league or come at least 2nd, and also the play off final date had not been released...
And yes I suppose you are correct, maybe being on holiday while the play off final is being played was genious stroke....
One more thing...I mentioned making the lower tier of the fm stand an away end in the comment above 38's...just saying...
Berks - So how many do you think we may have sold if they were 200 quid ?? More in the ground to buy food and ale,,,, Oh wait, I forgot Dean cut his nose off to spite his face,,,, Make the Lower River the same price as the Kilner, Shift those that should be in the "main stand", Lower the prices in the Kilner and make it unreserved, Easy, It wont be long before some old faces re appear and the ghostly atmosphere will be a thing of the past.
Myth...that reply is unbecoming of you mate...
It also reveals your arguement is bankrupt.
Berkshire terrier. That is an 'example', but is NOT what I am saying and there for irelevant to my arguement...Myth is talking about £500...presumably for 2 or 3 family members..which just goes to show how blooming ludicrous the pricing is for Div 3.
I guess most people, (8,000 ?) are paying £250 ? and pay on the gate are paying (on av) 23x £15.=.£345 ?
So 8000x£250 = £2m
and 5000 x £345 = £1.7m
total £3.7m
Don't know if those are anywhere accurate or not...
So if we had 22,000 paying £10 per game that = £5.1m
This is just an example of the logic I'm trying to apply to this...and if you read my post...the key is to get fans hooked, get the atmosphere in the stadium going so fans want to come back...plus the fact that at that price, the risk is if you don't buy you are never going to be able to see a game, play-off or local derby, ...then you can edge the prices up once you get them fans tuned in ...
