Last week!

There was a moment last night where Carroll chased a lost cause down like his life depended on it all just to try and get a throw-in instead of a goal kick. He made it and got the biggest cheer of the night and a good long burst of his song.

We've only ever wanted to see him put a bit of effort in and we'll give him all the support he needs and he finally looks like he's realised that. He's been absolutely brilliant since April and I hope he gets to go to the Euros as he looks pretty much unplayable at the moment.

Shelvey was absolutely brilliant last night. Whereas Hendo's first instict is to turn back towards goal, Shelvey will look for the forward option and he absolutely bossed that midfield last night. Great performance, and one I was proud to witness.

Downing does not perform unless everyone else does, that's not what we need. Won't change my mind on that one sorry.

AC brilliant performance from him in my book considering the cr@p he has been through over the year.

Carra, yes he turned up last night but it is his swan song, he is past it and Coates should be in there.

Big ifs and buts, but.. when we get Lucas back, and if we buy a good midfielder to offer more competition, and God willing Downing can up his game a little bit with Carroll starting to score goals... 4th is possible

One performance should not make up for the dismal 5 months we've had to put up with as fans.

Still alot of improvement required from management to the players.

All good and well to turn it on in the last home game of the season when there is really no pressure at all.

Where did I say it makes up for the last 5 months?

Downing does not perform unless everyone else does,
-------------------------------------------------------
This is an easy one. Our players are suited to 4-4-2. They perform when we play it and thus Downing performs, especially with Andy Carroll up front to aim at. Everytime we went forward last night, we had people to pass to in front. This has been the case when we've played 4-4-2 this season as the Suarez lone striker nobody in the box no goals system doesn't work.

Played in 4-4-2, our players will perform, more often than not.

Sad but true TOOR.

I hate the 4-4-2 formation though

Why hate it when it works!

It will work wonders in the league but elsewhere we will fail with it.

So taking that into account, use it to get into the top4 and then change everything again. Perfect!

Fair play OP , i have no problem admitting i was wrong or harsh but i feel that Liverpool fans get blasted by other reds for having an opinion sometimes.

You were spot on to blast Liverpool after the Fulham debacle.

Last night meant nothing and i learnt nothing i already didn't know

Henderson has potential to be great
Carrol has potential to be great
Suarez is class
Shelvey has potential to be great
Downing is a good player but needs to do more to play regular for us
We seem to play well when Maxi plays - yet Kenny has picked Spearing ahead of him

We are so much better without Spearing and Flannagn and i was even upset to see these two walking around after the match

Reina needs to sort his head out

Gerrard needs to start playing well again

Carra needs to retire

Thanks and good luck to Dirk and Maxi who have been great for us if they decide to move on

Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez were both 10 out of 10 for me.

We've all had our doubts over Carroll and rightly so given his performances - however, I'm totally surprised at just how well he is performing and so much so that I have found renewed confidence for next season.

Jonjo Shelvey is fantastic by the way - easily the best youngster on our books
