Paul Hunt sacked

Trouble at t'mill. I hope he is in a union of sorts and takes them to the cleaners, or better still does an interview and comes out with what we have thought for a long time.
I think things are going to get messy.

Seems to fit in with Venky's strategy for the club:
Identify anybody with the relevant experience or willingness to help the club; disregard them totally and then remove them at the first opportunity.

Our club is just rotten to the core now.

Also interesting to see the BBC's wording: "Both have come in for heavy criticism throughout the season from some supporters."

A few weeks ago 'heavy criticism' would have been 'abuse.'

This would appear to suggest that Kean will in fact be in charge next year. Venky's seem to have firmly come down on the side of Kean otherwise why would they sack Hunt?
Or am I applying too much logic to a situation that involves the Venky's?

Probably. But I can't see him leaving. I have visions of 30 years into the future with Kean wrinkly and using a zimmer frame, and, having negotiated Rovers steadily downward through the leagues, STILL managing us, STILL having us lose 7 out of 8, STILL bullsh itting in interviews, and STILL harping back to that win at Old Trafford when people question his credentials.

I just can't see him ever leaving...

So Venky's are still aware that the club exists then? I'd begun to think they'd forgotten about us completely.

To get rid of the most senior boardroom member, who has been practically running the club by himself since no chairman has been appointed, simply because his letter saying Kean wasn't good enough (which he isn't) was leaked is simply ludicrous.
-----------------------------------------------
if HE leaked it, which would be the most likely, then he is trying to undermine his bosses. If an employee of mine did anything similar, then he too would be out the door sharpish.

IMHO the reason you guys got relegated is not kean, and is not venky's - not directly.

I think the predominant reason you performed so badly was fans protesting before, during and after games. No matter what the feelings are, protests before games, banners during games etc against the manager are never going to help.

Had your fans got behind the team and the manager, then i personally think you would have accrued enough points to stay up.

Super Atko- it is cast iron guarantee Kean will be in charge next season.

I am hoping Paul Hunt will spill the beans with what is actually going on at our club. Would love to think he will but probably be paid off in his termination agreement as per previous departees.

BRFC=Shambles.

Fans protesting led to Big Sam getting the sack, Williams leaving, Kean being installed and our best players being sold whilst still injured allegedly, one shot on target in last two games? Perhaps you need a rethink Zaphod.

ZZ - If it was the fan's fault then explain how last season we managed to slip from 13th to 90 minutes from relegation in half a season without a single protest from the fans.
Explain how at the start of this season, we didn't win a single league game until the game where we staged our first protest.
This is nothing to do with the fans, this is completely the fault of poor management and uninterested players.

Furthermore, if he did leak it to try and undermine the owners - good for him. They need undermining.

simple. by then the grave had been dug.

venky's are only backroom - the people that matter are the players, the manager and the fans in roughly equal measures. Blackburn had fans who hated the manager, which left them with only 2 thirds of that golden triangle.

For the 10 millionth time, thats utter garbage.

1. Our results in games with organised protests were on the whole significantly better than in all our other games.
2. Fans don't have anywhere near as much impact as tactics, organisation and player selection. Never have, never will, fans just like to think they do.
3. For the vast majority of this season our support of the PLAYERS has been excellent, better than previous seasons in fact with the rise of the Darwen End lower tier as a home singing end.

You realise this was in reference to the first season when Kean took charge? There had been NO protests at that stage, so how the hell was the grave already dug?

So - despite the manager and team being incapable of picking up points consistently with the 100% backing of the fans - you think we would have picked up more points with the 100% backing of the fans?
It's a theory which doesn't really make much sense and is more than likely to be completely wrong.

A theory that probably wouldn't be wrong though is; if we had kept Big Sam in charge and given him the funds Kean had - we wouldn't be on our way to the Championship.

Oh, I don't even know why I'm bothering. If opposition fans really want to make an informed decision, they'll find this stuff out for themselves.

posted on 9/5/12

When the protests stopped, the results stayed bad.
What is your point?

posted on 9/5/12

For the 9 months before the protests started, results were just as bad. Whats his excuse for that?

Doesn't have one, like all the rest just has a standard remark to try and protect poor old Kean. Poor old Kean the convincted drink-drivers, serial liar and abuser of a reporter in a hotel, its nauseating.

Commiserations to Paul Hunt for losing his job, by the way.

Just an attempt to get back on topic but from the letter I read, he seemed to be the only one with Rovers' best interests at heart.

posted on 9/5/12

Very true SKA. As with everyone else who has lost there job, at a once well run club, they seem to go on and be selected to do jobs with other clubs that are doing well.
So they cant be that bad at what they do.

"When contacted by the Lancashire Telegraph, a spokesman for Blackburn Rovers said they were unsure if the story was true."

I hope that if he has been sacked he decides to completely lift the lid on the whole Rovers situation. It's about time we all knew exactly what was going on behind the scenes.

posted on 9/5/12

Apart from deluded Rovers' fans everyone in the country knows that Venky's are not going to sack Kean for simply financial aspect.

being pushed out of rovers is the best thing that can happen to someone...

Williams - senior role at city.
Allardyce - on brink of promotion with West Ham.
Andrews - great performances in a decent West Brom side (how we could have done with him in the run in).
Roberts - important goals in west ham's promotion.

Great judges of character/ability those Venkys.

As for Kean, I wish him a fate worse than a fate worse than death.
