He's not shown enough consistency, nor performed enough against top oppostion, to warrant the praise he gets. Still a good player though.

I was of your opinion last summer, but then I've looked at how Modric played this season. We were offered £40m towards the end of the last window, and whilst we would have struggled to replace him in the limited time we had, it is unlikely we will be offered that again for him.
All it takes is for Bale to have a bad season and we won't get offered anything over £20m. He's a good player, but he's made noises about leaving and for £32m plus, we could get players in who would improve the club and actually want to be there.
